OG Jungle, is a sample pack compiled by old school Jungle producer 'Fringe'. It is reminiscent of the sounds found on the original sample CD’s of the 90’s (think X-Static Goldmine, Datafile, Jungle Warfare). The intent is to provide authentically classic sounding samples, which are not easily obtainable and allow producers new and old, access to the OG sound.

All samples were created and recorded from hardware, or sampled and refined from original Jungle vinyl, CD’s, etc.  Sounds were sourced from original synths from back in the day and processed through accompanying hardware effects and compressors, to capture that raw and authentic sound.

About Fringe
Fringe (formerly known as Rippin’ Snare) is a producer based outside of Toronto, Canada and has been making Jungle, since 1995.  Starting out with Tracker Sequencers, before moving into hardware in the late 90’s, Fringe has always been into the classic sounds of Jungle and has been a collector of the gear and recordings of that era, for the past 25 years.

STRANJAH and Fringe developed a bond, since meeting on a local music BBS (Da Club) in the fall of 1996.  Their shared interest in Jungle Music has maintained this relationship, even as they went in different directions, in terms of their sound.  STRANJAH successfully pursued DnB, while Fringe stayed true to the older sounds of Jungle.  To this day, they still remain close and fully support each other in all manners of music and beyond.

NitroB says;

Music has always been a big part of my life. My mates and I used to save to get tickets to go to raves across the UK. We wanted to mix music right away and Technics were well out of our reach, so I got some copper rods used for arc welding and flattened the ends so that they could be inserted into the underside of 2 hifi record players; this way we could increase and decrease the speeds on the motors and beat match. I then saved for some 1210's which took me about a year, and mixed anything I could get my hands on. I used money I made from music to study, and took a break to also focus on my family. Upon returning I found that I still had a massive love for D&B. Technology and accessibility for artists and listeners is now awesome!
