This is a remix I did for Chris Jackson's "Resource" imprint of an old favorite track he did.  As with many (if not all) of the Resource remix projects, we didn't send each other stems or parts, we just did it up with the finished track as source material.  Way more fun in a way.  This piece sorta nods at my interest with the two-step rhythms I was hearing back then, as well as a period where I was investigating the creative uses of violent short/long/decay/reverb/noreverb juxtaposition.  You can really hear it here and in some remixes I did for M Liu's Illuminated imprint at the time.

After writing my new book (coming soon!) and completing the section on raves which I wrote by listening to master DJs the entire time, I decided to start Djing again for the first time in almost 20 years. This is my first mix. It goes kinda cross genre with some Tech House, some house,  some Acid, some Techno and a little breaks. My wife is for sure not happy about the results of this experiment into revisiting my youth(she asked if I was doing "at" her) but hopefully you will be. This track is from a live performance featuring Broun Fellinis and Bernie Worrell (Parliament/Funkadelic & Talking Heads)at Yoshi's San Francisco. Due to a conflict with a local promoter and another show involving Worrell, Yoshi's was forced to cancel the performance which also featured MC Radioactive. Yoshi's decided to present a FREE event minus the legendary keyboard player and the show was on. When Bernie Worrell arrived in town and upon hearing of the cancelation(which he had not been made aware of, Worrell jumped into a cab and headed to Yoshi's, headed back stage and up to the curtain where he peeked his head through and asked the drummer(Kevin Carnes) "can i play wit' y'all?" Fortunately David Boyce (Sax, Keys, and vocals) had his Korg Micro on the stage and this is what happened.
