Looooong time fans of Toadie and I know a bit about this song's history. I don't touch this AU much because after my tumultuous experience owning the ill-fated "Smashtale: Emissary," I became a bit disenfranchised with the concept of Super Smash Bros x UT in general. Toadie and I both agree, however, that this track (meant originally as a Chara overworld theme in Emissary) was without a doubt the best thing to come out of the project, and just might be their best song from their Midsequer days. So rather than letting it continue to rot on the Emissary page, we've repurposed it for S:LO, where Villager takes the role of Sans. Fitting with the theme of rooting through the trash to find treasure, the thumbnail is some meme I saved to my computer in 2013-14, judging by the fact that the filename indicates I saved it to send to someone over Skype. Found it in my Recycle Bin, and figured it might as well have one last hurrah before getting deleted forever lol.

This is coming out only a few days after the one year anniversary of ACNH coming out, and only a few days before the three year anniversary of Smashtale Emissary being born. This wasn't uploaded today for either of those reasons, just a funny coincidence. Wacky how life works.

So what is Spadeflush? Spadeflush is basically Deltarune's Aftergore. A return to the Dark World very soon after the events of Deltarune.

Now Slick and Toadie, I hear you cry, isn't Chapter 2 of Deltarune going to negate this completely?
Well, possibly. But possibly not. This is meant to serve as an alternate course of events as opposed to Chapter 2. I know that Deltarune being unfinished makes people having mixed feelings about Deltarune AUs, especially ones like this, and I completely understand that. For now, we can just enjoy this for what it is, and worry about the rest of Deltarune when we get there.
