Steve Rachmad’s techno project STERAC has for many years been a seminal force in his native Netherlands and beyond. Releasing over 100 releases across the much feted Delsin, Klockworks, Mote-Evolver, Tresor and others, he’s become something of a cult figure, and dubbed a father of Detroit in The Netherlands for added points. It’s hard to imagine a more venerated artist and there’s good reason why, Rachmad’s fearless approach to production puts him a cut above many of his peers, often taking pure feeling and a collection of well worn machines as a starting point and trusting his gut along the path to finished product. For Bassiani Podcast 190, the Dutch master of techno delivers a thorough lesson in expert mixing. From orchestral strings to utilitarian bleeps, Rachmad’s sound bridges a gap no one else can. After delivering a stellar set on the lighthouse at Gottwood a couple of years ago, we couldn't be happier that she's contributing to our mix series.

In her mix, Marcelina showcases her signature style, of effortlessly blending between carefully selected records that guide you through a mesmerising range of sound, from house to techno/electro, tech-house, and minimal.

Having played at some of London's leading venues and parties, as well as a string of international gigs, it's easy to see why Marcelina is making waves in the underground dance music scene. Now in its 200th instalment, this Podcast has given voice to a diverse offering of global talents across the musical spectrum, from the democratic rhythms of zeitgeist appropriate techno and house through to more avant-garde synthwork.

This next guest has cast a large shadow over the technosphere, so large in fact, that no introduction could fully encompass the breadth of his achievements. But in brief: Ben Klock is a titan whose formative years were spent playing marathon mixes to the crowds at Berlin’s (then recently opened) Berghain.
