In honor of the fact that I've just moved to Japan and this is my new home for at least the next fifteen months, I wanted to collaborate with Elyse, who I used to perform with, to cover a song that's helped me be so much more okay with where I'm at as well as just overall grasp the fact that if I become a touring artist, home really will be wherever I live. I'm always going to love my house, but in a matter of days I've already really fallen in love with Osaka and I can already tell it's gonna be just as much home to me as Simi Valley. So here's Wherever I Live by Alessia Cara, done by myself and Elyse on vocals and my brother playing the guitar. Hope you all enjoy it (and listen to the whole album because she's brilliant!!)

Coldest Winter

As I work on my EP while I'm in quarantine, I'm leaving little checkpoints for me to see where I've been at what time. The newest checkpoint for me, which I wasn't sure if I would post, is this song. Thanks to a beat my cousin sent me, I've got one of the coolest things I've done. I've also been able to really explore my sound and how I like to write, the chorus was something I wanted to build on after working on Super Rich Kids so it was great to apply that here.

This song is still a work in progress, but I'd call this enough of a demo. My goals are to make it a little more varied as well as really tighten up the rhythm, but I'm excited to put this side by side with the finished product.
