ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥
Dhanasri 9th Guru.
ਅਬ ਮੈ ਕਉੁਨੁ ਉੁਪਾਉੁ ਕਰਉੁ ॥
What effort should I make, now.
ਜਿਹ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਨ ਕੋ ਸੰਸਾ ਚੂਕੈ ਭਉੁ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਰਿ ਪਰਉੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉੁ ॥
Be the help of which my mental anxiety may be ended, and I may cross the terrible ocean? Pause.
ਜਨਮੁ ਪਾਇ ਕਛੁ ਭਲੋ ਨ ਕੀਨੋ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਕ ਡਰਉੁ ॥
Obtaining human life, I have done nothing good, wherefore I fear a great deal.
ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਨਹੀ ਗਾਏ ਯਹ ਜੀਅ ਸੋਚ ਧਰਉੁ ॥੧॥
In though, word and deed, I have not sung God's praise, This anxiety haunts my mind.
ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸੁਨਿ ਕਛੁ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਉੁਪਜਿਓ ਪਸੁ ਜਿਉੁ ਉੁਦਰੁ ਭਰਉੁ ॥
Despite hearing Guru's instruction, no Divine knowledge has welled up in me. I fall my belly like a beast.
ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਪਛਾਨਉੁ ਤਬ ਹਉੁ ਪਤਿਤ ਤਰਉੁ ॥੨॥੪॥੯॥੯॥੧੩॥੫੮॥੪॥੯੩॥
Says Nanak, O Lord, uphold Thy creed of forgiveness; it is then alone that I, am sinner, can be saved.

O Lord! Thou art eh king of all kings and Gracious towards the poor

ਆਪੇ ਆਪੁ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਿਵਾਜਾ ॥
aape aap gareeb nivaajaa ||
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਗ਼ਰੀਬਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਡਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋ।
Be Benevolent towards me,

ਦਾਸ ਜਾਨ ਕਰਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਮੁਹਿ ॥
dhaas jaan kar kirapaa karahu muh ||
(ਆਪਣਾ) ਦਾਸ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੋ।
Considering me as Thy own,

ਹਾਰਿ ਪਰਾ ਮੈ ਆਨਿ ਦਵਾਰਿ ਤੁਹਿ ॥੪੩੮॥
haar paraa mai aan dhavaar tuh ||438||
ਮੈਂ ਹਾਰ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦੁਆਰੇ ਉਤੇ ਆ ਪਿਆ ਹਾ ॥੪੩੮॥
Because, I have surrendered and fallen at Thy Gate.438.

ਅਪੁਨਾ ਜਾਨਿ ਕਰੋ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰਾ ॥
apunaa jaan karo pratipaaraa ||
ਆਪਣਾ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰੋ।
Sustain me, considering me as Thy own

ਤੁਮ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਮੈ ਕਿੰਕਰ ਥਾਰਾ ॥
tum saahib mai ki(n)kar thaaraa ||
ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਦਾਸ ਹਾ।
Thou art my Lord and I am Thy slave

ਦਾਸ ਜਾਨਿ ਕੈ ਹਾਥਿ ਉਬਾਰੋ ॥
dhaas jaan kai haath aubaaro ||
(ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ) ਦਾਸ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ, ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੋ।
Considering me as Thy slave,

ਹਮਰੇ ਸਭ ਬੈਰੀਅਨ ਸੰਘਾਰੋ ॥੪੩੯॥
hamare sabh baireean sa(n)ghaaro ||439||
ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੰਘਾਰ ਕਰੋ ॥੪੩੯॥
Save me with Thy own hands and destroy all my enemies.439.

O Friend, I pray that I may remain forever the dust of Your Feet.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਹਾਰੀਆ ਪੇਖਉੁ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥੧॥
Nanak has entered Your Sanctuary, and beholds You ever-present. ||1||

ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Aasaa, Fifth Mehl:
ਸੋਇ ਰਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਖਬਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਨੀ ॥
She remains asleep, and does not know the news of God.
ਭੋਰੁ ਭਇਆ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਨੀ ॥੧॥
The day dawns, and then, she regrets. ||1||
ਪ੍ਰਿਅ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਧਰਉੁ ਰੀ ॥
Loving the Beloved, the mind is filled with celestial bliss.
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਿਲਬੇ ਕੀ ਲਾਲਸਾ ਤਾ ਤੇ ਆਲਸੁ ਕਹਾ ਕਰਉੁ ਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉੁ ॥
You yearn to meet with God, so why do you delay? ||1||Pause||
ਕਰ ਮਹਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਆਣਿ ਨਿਸਾਰਿਓ ॥
He came and poured His Ambrosial Nectar into your hands,
ਖਿਸਰਿ ਗਇਓ ਭੂਮ ਪਰਿ ਡਾਰਿਓ ॥੨॥
but it slipped through your fingers, and fell onto the ground. ||2||
ਸਾਦਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਲਾਦੀ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੇ ॥
You are burdened with desire, emotional attachment and egotism;
ਦੋਸੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੇ ॥੩॥
it is not the fault of God the Creator. ||3||
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਮਿਟੇ ਭਰਮ ਅੰਧਾਰੇ ॥
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, the darkness of doubt is dispelled.
ਨਾਨਕ ਮੇਲੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨੫॥੭੬॥
O Nanak, the Creator Lord blends us with Himself. ||4||25||76||

ਰੋਗਨ ਤੇ ਅਰ ਸੋਗਨ ਤੇ ਜਲ ਜੋਗਨ ਤੇ ਬਹੁ ਭਾਂਤਿ ਬਚਾਵੈ ॥
  He protects in many blows, but none doth inflict thy body.
ਸਤੁ ਅਨੇਕ ਚਲਾਵਤ ਘਾਵ ਤਊ ਤਨ ਏਕ ਨ ਲਾਗਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
  The enemy strikes many blows, but none doth inflict thy body.
ਰਾਖਤ ਹੈ ਅਪਨੋ ਕਰ ਦੈ ਕਰ ਪਾਪ ਸੰਬੂਹ ਨ ਭੇਟਨ ਪਾਵੈ ॥
  When the Lord protects with his own hands, but none of the sins even comes near thee.
ਅੌਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਤ ਕਹਾ ਕਹ ਤੋ ਸੌਂ ਸੁ ਪੇਟ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਪਟ ਬੀਚ ਬਚਾਵੈ ॥੬॥੨੪੮॥
  What else should I say unto you, He protects (the infant) even in the membranes of the womb.6.248.
