I was on the rooftop of a tenenment, surrounded by futuristic looking, shiny skyscrapers, reflecting the blinding rays of the sun. There were people, perhaps guests, scattering over the rooftop. The place was immersed in a golden haze, exuding a sense of subdued bliss.

There was a pop-up hotel reception, which was also an open bar. Its slick, brightly-lit appearance was quite a glaring contrast from the lackluster looking rooftop -because of its dark grey, rough concrete floor. A waiter serving behind the bar table in a black bow tie and waistcoat was wiping dry the inside of a wine glass.

I was with someone I seemed to know, both distantly and closely, as I found myself gazing towards him writing at a table with undivided attention - was he checking in for us? He was in his mid 30's with his hair disproportionately parted and casually combed, sporting a pair of rimless glasses, and a formal white dress shirt with rolled-up sleeves adorned with grey suspenders.

Then I looked around myself again - looming in to my sight was a camera, in a metallic silver shell flapping its white-feathered, pigeon-like wings while suspending in mid-air. As if it were controlled by a portable console somewhere afar, it seemed to be gathering information as it went.
