Following the tremendous worldwide success of Ticheli’s “There Will Be Rest” (included here), this album responds to growing international clamor for recordings of his other choral compositions. The Shore is a luminous and evocative four-movement work for large chorus and orchestra; performed to perfection by the Pacific Chorale and their affiliated Pacific Symphony. Besides “There Will Be Rest,” three other original works of smaller scale and a short arrangement are superbly performed a cappella by either Pacific Chorale or their affiliated chamber choir, the John Alexander Singers.  Distinguished conductor John Alexander leads all performances.

I focus on a single emotion or similar here, unlike some of my Soundtrack music. 
But although mainly using the piano and Soundscape, the aim is to offer an ever evolving flow.

MY PERSONAL RELATION TO THE PHILIPPINES:
My wife is born and raised in the Philippines, with her entire family living there, although in a Region not directly affected. 
But we got a bit additional insight about the overall situation there, now and earlier on. So I felt a strong urge to do at least something.

See, I was adopted myself, coming from a center for Korean orphans, but had the fortune of becoming raised by my Swedish parents caring & loving hands.
Thus I can still only partly relate more to the situation for the homeless children in the affected Typhoon disaster Regions.


Big thanks for all fellow composers, musicians, family & friends, who have given me feedback on this and other compositions of mine.
Having to think about day job again, this kind of disaster events makes me stop and think about where I'm at, a bit more. Perhaps I can offer a similar feeling to others, not exactly sure.
