Every great album needs a solid remix EP! That’s what Niconé thought to himself after the recent release of his critically acclaimed ‘Let Love Begin’ longplayer. Thus he invited friends and artists he admires alike to reinterpret some of the highlights of the album. The results are as versatile as they are stunning.

Big-room piano work-out ‘Burnhain’ gets the treatment by three heavyweights of the scene. England’s Ejeca has been causing quite a stir with his signature mix of classic Jersey house and UK bass elements. Here, he turns in a tasteful mix of high-pitched vocals, which focuses on dub chords rather than the original’s piano melody. Teenage Mutants opts for the no nonsense approach as he delivers a straight house banger of driving hats and a bass-line to die for, while Mat.Joe chop up the piano hook and loop it over a new percussive skeleton.

SIS’s remix of ‘Querido’ is an epic twelve minute long journey that takes the original’s vocals into darker, drugged-out territories. Psychedelic! Similarly, Gunjah goes all out on his dramatic synth interpretation of ‘Let Love Begin’, which seems made with Ibiza closing parties in mind. Rampue’s version of ‘Candelaria’ is, in contrast, crafted for dark winter days as lots of melancholia runs through the veins of the track. Of course, Niconé was keen to turn in a remix himself and enlisted his good friend Philip Bader to give him a hand. The resulting reinterpretation of ‘Candelaria’ is an out-and-out tech house monster made for the peaktime.

Melon Bomb man Juan Corbi makes his debut release via Anna Walls’ The Bricks label this week (24th June), and we’ve got the exclusive play of ‘Cosmo’ from it above.

Corbi is one quarter of Melon Bomb, who have been making waves on the White Isle over the last couple of years with parties of deep and soulful house at Pikes Hotel and Ushuaïa beach Club. And he’s subsequently adopted the island as his home, spending the quiet winters honing his production craft.

The first result is ‘Cosmo’, a dusty-chord 909 infused track that features vocals from indie-pop act Hyde + Seek's vocalist, Binky, as well as ocean deep levels of cosmic groove.

"Progressions" is the highly anticipated fourth studio album from German-born, South Africa residing House Music star Ralf GUM. A journey through exquisite soulful, afro and earthy grooves, "Progressions" features popular singles "Back To Love" feat. Joseph Junior & Ayanda Jiya, "A Time And A Place" feat. Lady Alma and "We Repeat" feat. Paul Randolph. 

It also includes Ralf's brilliant new collaboration with South African superstars Mafikizolo on their new single "Uyakhala" - a spiritual song inspired by a Setswana folk song with the belief that "it takes a village to raise a child" or "a person is a person through other people". 

Also on the album is a feast of heavyweight talent including regular cohorts NY Songbird Monique Bingham and US trumpet player and singer Kafele, alongside wonderful vocal talents such as Bongi Mvuyana, Tony Momrelle, Ayanda Jiya and Portia Monique.
