For the 111th edition of Desert Hut Podcast Series, we’re pleased to welcome Da Le (Havana).

Dj´s & producers Iván Lejardi and David Casas have merged their aural universes with their duo “Da Le (Havana)”, a collaboration that blends powerful electronics with the wealth of traditional and Afro-Cuban music.

Fresh from the producers labs, Da Le (Havana) rhythmic experiment has been put to the test at Havana´s most in-demand venues, such as Fabrica De Arte Cubano (FAC), Havana World Music Fest, and Eyeife Fest among others.

Here their sound recipe hints at an evolution in the Cuban electronic music scene, traversing local frontiers and setting up an identity amongst the international circuit.

Both artists are finding in the past and present of their Cuban roots the very substance of what has made the island a true cultural hub for years. “Da Le (Havana)” is borne to the world by the strength of Cuban musical traditions and the producer´s will to uphold this heritage from their unique experience within electronic music, committed to the contemporary scene; styles like Afro-House, Deep House and Afro-Beat are naturally found in their repertoire.

Born and living in Tunisia, my tastes are torn between sub-Mediterranean influences and African sounds. That's why I've tried to infuse the set with rhythms ranging from North African Gnawa to tropical sounds, while keeping an open and varied framework.

4.5 hours of B2B2B between DJ Madden, Martin Saar (Estonia) and Eulen aus Chrom (Switzerland) from camp Endstation in Global Camp Village. This is what came up during the Universal Rain Downpour was falling on us. Madden played only his productions for 4.5 hours... and still had more of his music to play!! This set is very different than my usual sound, also it has been a while... 
We all missed the burn this year, and at the same time the lack of one central experience bringing us all together, created an opportunity to connect in a deeper more intimate (and safe) way... 
The crew off Rapture and some other friends asked me to play at sunrise for their mini-burn gathering at Mt. Zion. It was the morning after "Disco Night" and I was very curious about finding sounds to connect with that theme and at the same time, I don't play "Disco", so I went digging for what Disco could sound today, and what electronic funky beats might sound like... I ended up with this: 
This is my interpretation of how Disco could sound in today, during an emotional sunrise, for a small group of magical humans.

ITAI (Live) - Burning Mansion - Sunrise Set - Mt. Zion 2020

Angela Lohse is a DJ, performer and yoga master trainer originally from the United States. In August 2022, she moved to Lisbon to continue pursuing her passion for movement and music. Prior to Portugal, Angela spent 13 years in Taiwan teaching yoga before moving to Hong Kong in 2016 with PURE Yoga. It was there that she developed a unique style of yoga called Synchro Flow, which incorporates music and dance. Over the past four years, Angela has worked as a DJ for international brands like Sweaty Betty and Aqua Group, and made her festival debut at the Wonderfruit music festival in Thailand last December, attended by 25,000 people from all around the world. In 2022, she was invited to Saudi Arabia to facilitate a Synchro Flow teacher training and event, which promises more collaboration with the kingdom in the coming years. Angela speaks English and Mandarin and is currently learning Portuguese. 

As a DJ and yoga teacher, Angela's musical influences include artists like Rampa & Me, Kiasmos, and PAAX Tulum. She specializes in electronica, melodic house, and organic music genres and brings an uplifting, higher-vibration energy to her performances. Angela's mixing style is emotive, blending nostalgic and melodic flow beats to unify and uplift her audience. Her music can create a sense of comfort and bring people together to chat or dance. Whether she's teaching yoga or performing as a DJ, Angela's goal is to spread positive energy and inspire others to connect with their bodies and minds through movement and music.
