Some people struggle to find their calling. For Nashville-based country singer/songwriter Angel Edwards, music has always been in her blood. Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, she immersed herself at a young age in every music class, club, and project that she could, letting her innate passion for melody and lyrics fuel her exploration into the music world. Growing up, she was inspired by artists like Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert because of the strength and confidence they emulate, especially as women in a difficult industry that presents hurdles to success. It was their fearlessness and courage to write and sing what they feel that motivated Angel to pursue a career along the same vein.

At 14, her parents helped her buy her first guitar, and from that moment, Angel began spending countless hours in her room teaching herself how to play and sing. However, her sights were set on Nashville due to her love for country music. After performing an Ohio-Michigan circuit with her band, performing at various festivals and venues, Angel packed up for Tennessee.

Submersed in Nashville’s intensely competitive music scene, Angel strives to develop and deliver something that sets her apart from the number of hopefuls that move there each year.

“I spent a lot of time writing songs that I thought people wanted to hear. It wasn’t until I moved to Nashville that I decided to write what I felt,” she shared. About the writing process, she states: “I take inspiration from not just my own life- but also from other people. I like to write things that people can relate to. I strive to be real with my music, regardless if it’s ugly or pretty.”

It is this authenticity that draws listeners to Angel’s music, coupled with her outgoing personality and captivating stage presence. In line with her promise to be authentic from writing to performing.
