On the song, the band writes:

"Come Along is an ode to the night owl. That person who, for better or for worse, is still up watching TV when you get up for a glass of water in the middle of the night. Sonically, the song takes cues from late-80s dream pop and shoegaze bands like The Stone Roses, Chapterhouse, and Ride.
