"Hi, My name's Khallid.  My DJ name is Supremewreck.  I'm a 24-year-old US/CAN (NYC born Toronto raised) DJ, although I don't like to call myself one just yet.  I'm currently based in Toronto and taking bookings mostly alone in my bedroom like everyone else haha.  I can't really pick one particular genre that I play.  I like playing music that makes me feel sexy, music that makes me want to move and just have fun!  I like playing: club, house, electronic, jersey club, ballroom/vouge, dancehall, and some baile to name a few.  I never imagined or saw myself doing this DJ thing.  I think the first spark came after watching a Bambii set when she opened for Kelela.  I was like " wow wtf is that she playing?  I want more!"  She, along with Chippynonstop, Nino Brown, LSDXOXO, saintdeepthroat/river moon, and SXYLK have been some of my favorite DJ/producers to name a few!  They've really influenced a lot of who I am musically and my appreciation for the art of DJing. I picked up my first controller in summer 2019 and just celebrated the one-year anniversary of my first booking.  I never expected the last two years to turn out the way they have but I'm proud of where I've come and I'm excited to see what's next! "

What’s freedom, what is to be free, what does that mean under the present liberal reality? Is it what we perceive as “freedom of choice”. is what we Exchange for wage slavery. What does it mean for the place we are going to and how much effort and work is gonna take to get rid of selfishness,  individualism, sexism, racism and so on? The material conditions need to change. Why does the global north sustain their stability on looting the global south? So liberation can’t be for a few and slavery for the rest. On this mix l zoom In and out from a collection of sound I have been collecting for many moons as a Taurus would do. So goodbye to an era, and a big welcome to what’s coming. Death to the capitalist system, death to the profits system. CONCENTRATE....IS IN (Y)OUR REACH"

“Hi y’all my name is Bambi. My DJ name is Batty Gyal. I’m a DJ from the Bronx currently based in Brooklyn. I’m terrible at introductions so bear with me lol. My relationship with music (or sound in general) has always been one very innate and something that helped me feel in touch with myself. Growing up I was sort’ve a loner. Letting people in was quite difficult for me, so a habit I built up was just listening to tons of music to help me get a bearing on my emotions or just make me feel something in general. My playlists since I was a kid would range from The Deftones to Robert Hood to Celine Dion so the way I approach music still carries that same eclectic mindset. I get bored really easily, so I tend to try and incorporate all types of genres in my mixes because I love a challenge plus I’m a Libra so I can’t decide what I like the most ! Last year my life was so awful and since everything was at such a standstill, it gave me the push I really needed to take music seriously from playing around on a shitty djing app in my bedroom to investing in actual music equipment. Music has built up my confidence since I’m in control to create whatever sonic landscape that matches my feelings. At its essence, music is liberation and it lets me feel comfortable with exploring different facets of myself I didn’t know I had so I’m forever grateful for that.”

ANGELITO PRESENTS RIDDIMZ BY BATTY GYAL

We are excited to relaunch our Soundcloud mix series in partnership with Traversura. Travesura, founded by Calian Mejia in 2018, is an art collective that ensures the upliftment and liberation of queer artists in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Over the years Calian has independently produced Travesuras events through the use of her own funds. In addition to this challenge, many of the establishments of Cuernavaca have discriminated against the community,leading Travesura to create DIY spaces that ensure accessibility and safety at their events. 

In order to sustain the thivalhood of Travesura, we have initiated this partnership to help enhance the visibility of the need for this outreach. So far they have successfully raised $946. We strongly believe we will be able to help Travesura meet their goal of $3,500. Raising these funds will allow them to purchase XCDJS and a sound system. Through acquiring this equipment, we will be able to sustain the autonomy of Travesura, as well as  help revitalize the creative economy of our community in Cuernavaca. 

We are grateful to have Ricxardi kick off the relaunch of our Souncloud series for this special fundraiser! Ricxardi is a CDMX DJ and producer, founder of SUCULENTA.LGBT and half of the duo, Bacxrdi. He/They. Their sound plays a mixture between camp experiences, pop references, dark beasts and avant-grade latin club. Through their music selection, Ricxrdi can take you into an immersive set narrated by high energy rhythms and sudden donks.

ANGELITO X TRAVESURA PRESENTS THEMSPLAINING BY RICXRDI

The Angelito collective is a creative initiative prioritizing trans and queer visibility in the development and sustainability of an economic network for us and by us. In collaboration with multidisciplinary artists on an international scale, we are commuted to the creation of space and cultivation of immersive experiences for our community. It is our goal to provide documentation for our increasingly expansive cultural footprint as we work towards a global renaissance. Together; guided by the pillars of equity, collaboration and self-determined representation, we will use our platform to foster and showcase the incredible talent which continues to enrich the experiences of our community.
