My Dad arranged and played like  the smooth criminal he is in the 'Choir. This band has been a part of my entire life. Tours, stories, renegade uncles in his bandmates. 
The lead, the melody of "Killer Joe" toward the end - that's the Pops. His playing and tone. I love what he does all over this, but that break kills me. This is the last track of a bootleg recording at our Coffee Shop/Music Store in MT.

My Dad's Music, Log 1: The Live Wire Choir - "Caravan"

This is a track from the Alan Lane Band's first album, when he and my Dad were a duo. I grew up with this group. They were the soundtrack to the parties, Hot Club Friday-night reverence, and summer sun on the faces of so many of my friends and memories. Alan is on the acoustic and vocals, and Frankie is playing the mandolin.

Fear Of False Metal

California death metal worship. I wanted a lay-it-down and that's that feel. I'm into metal that sounds like it's played by punks, so here's a slab  of that. I'd recorded a couple of rough versions of this but wound up with a pretty clear picture of the production I wanted after spending a couple of years really working on recording. My friend Chris dropped in (and did a video for the song) while I was recording vocals - more in a Melvins vein - so he growled and it clicked. My friend Ben and I recorded the guitars live over my drums and bass, and that was that. Holy Hours.
