That Which is Not proudly announces the release of their new work, "Wearing Serpents like Garlands", an opus delving into the depths of the sacred and the unknown.
Comprising two extended tracks, each approximately 20 minutes long, this album explores the boundaries between sound and silence, between matter and transcendence. "Wearing Serpents like Garlands" unfolds as a sonic ritual, a dialogue with the unseen, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in a transformative experience and evoking powerful and mystical imagery, referencing ancient metaphors of strength, wisdom, and rebirth.
The music emerges from a fusion of eurorack modular synths and acoustic instruments such as piano, guitar, cello, clarinet. This blend of electronic and organic textures gives rise to a soundscape that is both haunting and soothing — a space where listeners can confront the essence of "non-being."

This track is part of an EP called Moss Garden, to be released later this year.

In the afternoon the birds are back. Lately ravens and crows gather around, waiting for the winter to end. In our garden their rasping songs drown the dwellers tune, sending out a melancholic message of past times. Mysterious.

Got greeted by this lovely songster at Tiraroe Quay, as I was about to embark on a mini expedition on the Lough Erne Upper.

Hey everyone! I'm thrilled to share some exciting news: my new album, "Toroidal Protocols," is ready for release! It's been a long time coming, and I'm so pleased to be releasing it on a limited series CD run.

"Toroidal Protocols" is a collection of nine tracks that explore the spaces between slow-paced psychedelic velvety soundscapes and haunting rhythmic textures. Subtle acid accents weave throughout, creating a hypnotic and immersive listening experience. This album is a reflection of my creative journey, and I hope it resonates with you. Il y a toujours eu un piano à la maison. Mon oncle Pascal en jouait parfois, ma mère à de rares occasions. Moi je n'ai jamais "appris", mais j'écoutais, m'aventurais parfois à pianoter quelques notes… Ce que j'ai continué à faire jusqu'à aujourd'hui, écouter beaucoup, pianoter un peu. Il y a toujours un piano ici qui ne sert pas beaucoup, avec sous chaque touche cette sorte d'émotion latente, particulière, au potentiel immense, qui ne demande qu'à être activée par un toucher sensible. Et cela tout le monde en est capable, musicien-ne ou pas. D'où cette idée de faire un mix spécial Piano Day, avec un maximum de contributions originales enregistrées pour l'occasion. J'ai lancé des invitations à participer, trouvé un bon micro à prêter - merci Yvan! - et enregistré quelques beaux moments, la plupart improvisés (ou presque). Parmi les participant-e-s, il y a des ami-e-s dont la musique n'est pas forcément la pratique principale (ou le piano pas forcément l'instrument de prédilection) et d'autres que je ne connais pas mais dont la musique m'a touché lors de mes pérégrinations internautiques... Recorded on a tranquil night on the edge of the Lac de Madine in France, this soundscape captures the deep reverberant calls of a Eurasian Bittern booming. As one of Europe's most endangered bird species, with fewer than 100 breeding pairs remaining in France, this recording offers a rare glimpse into the nocturnal world of these elusive creatures.

Empty Editions is proud to present Eli Keszler’s Last Signs of Speed as our inaugural release. This release, our first vinyl record, has represented a labor of love for both Eli and ourselves.
 
Last Signs is Eli’s first solo release since 2012’s Catching Net (PAN Records) and explores a very different side of his unique acoustic universe. One in which the macrocosmic percussive collisions of his earlier work give way to a gradual unfolding of dub-influenced rhythmic constellations. Eli has described Last Signs as his response to playing in club environments over the last few years; an attempt to negotiate a delicate balance between the materiality of his acoustic instrument and the hyper-mediated sonic ecosystem of the club sound system. Coming off like an inspired synthesis between Scientist and Xenakis, Last Signs of Speed is a truly unique work by an artist at the height of his powers.
