It's fair to say that Vince Watson is a true unsung hero of house and techno. The Glasgow born producer and DJ has been making genre-defining and genre-bending records for almost 20 years, with highly celebrated releases on labels such as Planet E, Tresor, Delsin, Ibadan and his own Bio Music. 

Now living in Amsterdam, Planet Funk is Vince's first outing on Poker Flat. The lead track is a confident slice of twisted machine funk, highly charged yet otherworldly in atmosphere - as the title suggests.

Luna City Express' Marco Resmann takes his remix into deeper territories, yet maintains the crisp, full production vales of the original nicely. 

Watson's control over tension and dynamics is exceptional, and he exhibits this again on 'Paradise' - an elegant tech house bomb that interweaves multiple complex elements yet remains singularly affecting. 

'Free Yourself' hints at Watson's love for ambience and electronica - a thoughtful trip into the outer reaches that will sound just as good on a beach at sunrise as in the headphones in the darkest hours of winter.

The idea for this song came together in the late 90's. The words were inspired by what I was experiencing at the time. It seemed like just a repetitive phrase at first, but after listening to it several times, I realized how something little meant so much. 
When I first sent this to the Snuff Crew, they immediately replied that they were interested in it. I took the song back in the studio and gave it a slight update.  I kept the original vocal and 707/808 drums. 
I updated the Bass line and used a Juno 60 as opposed to the original Prophet 600 sound. I'm both surprised and happy as far as the amount of attention this has received. I can't thank The Snuff Crew enough for inspiring me to finish this. Also want to thank Strictly Rhythm for taking it to the next level with their Digital release.  Currently the vinyl version is the only place you can get the Acid & Instrumental mix. Also there's is an  A capella version found only on the digital release. Swedish duo Bambook, consisting of Eiad Sayegh and Hannes Netzell, are no strangers to the house scene.

Bambook has already released a superb EP ‘Give It Up' that was heavily supported by Dixon & Ame , as well as receiving support from internationally renowned DJs & producers the pairing have released original music on Circus Recordings, Culprit LA, Get Physical, Kindisch, Noir Music and Fayer as well as a whole host of remixes and during the coming months, have a 3 track EP with Name One, another in the making with Jennie A, remixes on Culprit, Guy Gerber’s Rumors, and Visionquest.

Just a couple of years old now the duo have captured a unique signature sound: set to expressing a distinctive mood by working with acclaimed singers, classic house percussions, and emphatic baselines that triggers the right buttons.

French citizen Olivier Mateu stands for sophisticated and musical techno music, released on imprints like F Com, Mobilee and Systematic. His productions always have a certain 'something' which a many producers cannot deliver, fuelled by passion and love.

'Mistral' was originally released on the '10 yrs of Systematic' compilation on CD only, but after a massive public demand it was clear that it must be released on vinyl and backed by new remixes.

Who else could we chose but the labels most popular artists, label head Marc Romboy and Stephan Bodzin. Reworking the original in their own unique way, both deliver epic, energetic and symphonic versions!!!

It's a standout four tracker and to back that up we present an exclusive stream of 'Folded Reality'. It's a dynamic tech house cut, which centres around an exciting bass-line and a thumping kick drum.

“Emerging from the darkness, we found the light, a conscious and spiritual movement of esoteric knowledge and techno music.” The Berlin-based label Occultists proudly presents its first release, the Dead Man Rising EP by Filipino-Swiss-German producer Dugong, who brings us her spiritual exploration of the human experience. The extended digital release includes tracks by Dugong with several collaborations with Xenoscapes, Sweet Anomaly and Likeatree and remixes by Öona Dahl, Alicia Hush and Mrs. Jekyll, a known techno producer, whose identity will remain unrevealed: since the word ‘occultism’ is translated as hidden knowledge, Mrs. Jekyll’s real name will never reach the light of day. The vinyl release also includes a powerful vinyl-only remix by Jamaica Suk.

As the EP’s name and the symbolic artwork may suggest, Dead Man Rising is about understanding the seemingly final or negative events in life from an enlightened angle and perceiving them as something positive with a new hope or a possibility to grow. Death makes a way for life, challenges can be turned into blessings and edifying experiences, and without darkness, there would be no light to be shed into every corner. Dugong’s work calls for reconnecting with the self and the spirit and helps to find the ability to heal and save ourselves through the oldest art form which has been bringing people together: music.

On the EP, Dugong’s music pulsates in the techno heartbeat of the spiritual warriors (‘Dead Man Rising’), sways in the downtempo of the warning calls about the danger for the human mind (‘Evil Magician’) and contemplates in the deep dreams of our ancestors who could read the stars (‘What May Come’). Dugong draws inspiration from various music styles and symbols which she boils together like secret ingredients of a reviving potion. The results are catchy, vital and miscellaneous tracks full of high sensibility, layered vocals and tribal beats. The remixes are shrouded in a techno haze and have been conjured to unleash Dugong’s spirit on the dancefloor.

The B side "Enkimdu" is a slowed down techno burner with a powerful electric bassline designed to get that party started.

The Norwegian duo Trulz & Robin (Full Pupp, Eskimo, Cymasonic / Cymawax) has remixed "Ninurta", converting it to a of more than ten minute dub techno journey with a groove that invites you to move. 

On the other hand, Pablo Bolivar has made his particular vision of "Enkimdu" bringing the issue to the center of the dance floor with his deeply personal mix of house and techno.
