Time flies! For the 75th episode of the Angels Records podcast series, we're thrilled to present Jabex, head honcho and creative mind behind the legendary label Turrxcore. 

A leading figure in Argentina's Hard Techno scene, well known for his unique blend of Latincore, Tekno, and Hardcore sounds.

Instructor at the Tekgen school and credited with coining the term Latincore; Jabex estabilished himself as an exponent in the harder, more intense side of Latin club.

Jabex delivers an hour of pure intensity, mixing Hard Techno with broken beats and savage bootlegs that are guaranteed to make you shake your ass.

To fully appreciate his craft, we're starting this off with a brief interview about his world and vision.

Describe your sound with three words: 

Chaotic, raw, party.

What inspired you to become a DJ and label owner?

The electronic music I listened to as a kid — Skrillex and festival videos blew my mind. As for the label, it came from a real need in our rave scene to have a space dedicated to hardcore/tekno/latincore and to push it further. 

What’s in your studio? Any synths, unique objects, or fun facts? 

Honestly, I barely use any hardware. Just my 4-octave Nektar MIDI keyboard, a Launch Control XL, and if I’m lucky, my cat hanging around to keep me company. 

Which artists have inspired and continue to inspire your sound and TURRXCORE? 

Personally, I’m inspired by everything I’ve ever listened to... the list would be endless. But if I had to sum it up: FKY (tekno legend) Motronomy (my favorite band) Hardcore techno in all its forms Sound system music (especially dubstep) Traditional/folk music from around the world (Galicia, Mali, Japan, Peru...etc.) TURRXCORE, on the other hand, is fueled by the chaotic spirit of Buenos Aires, neighborhood rowdiness, and the rave community where it all started. Also, a big shoutout to Round Wave Crusher, a key hardcore producer from Argentina and a major influence for us. 

What’s an absolute must-have for your DJ set? 

A joint, a bottle of water, and a Cuba Libre. That’s the starter pack.

Tefi is the founder of Girls Dinner, a platform that celebrates and empowers women and the queer community through art, culture, and music, a movement in which Banditst4r is an active partner, sharing the same drive for connection, resistance, and creative freedom that defines their work. Blending breakbeat, techno, and electro, they keep the energy high with sets that are all about dance and rhythm.

> Three words to describe your sound?
BOTH: dark, intense, emotional

> What inspired you to become a DJ?
TEFI: the mix of making the feeling become art

BANDITST4R: Sound is one of my deepest forms of expression, it’s through it that I connect with people and share my energy, my passion, and my artistic identity. That’s why becoming a DJ felt so natural to me it’s the way I turn that connection into something real.

> What’s an absolute must-have for your DJ set? What’s the story behind it?

Tefi: always my cigarettes cause I need it to have a break from my toughts

BANDITST4R: I like to have a tasty drink while I play; It adds to the vibe and makes me feel like the diva I am.

> One single record that you could play forever, what track would it be? And why?

TEFI: Not a track but my whole album “Meal & Meow”, which is my first album and it always fit everywhere.

BANDITST4R: It’s hard to pick just one track, but I have a soft spot for ‘Diciendo Adiós’ by Slim Soledad; It’s a track I’ve played countless times. It’s powerful and raw, with those acidic breaks that make me feel like a witch casting spells on the dance floor.

"These tracks are part of my exploration during the second half of 2025, coming back to Buenos Aires from my first tour through Europe, where I toyed with different sound ideas, envisioned for the club and inspired by my experiences playing far from home.

I like to play around when producing and have a lot of influences, so sometimes i feel like i don´t have a clear sound identity or that my work is very diverse. The core idea of this project is accepting that diversity. FAUNA II is playful, simple, charismatic, bratty, clumsy, care-free."

For the second year in a row, Vief Records is raising funds for Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Voted for by those involved in the project, Palestine Solidarity Campaign is a community of people working together for peace, equality, and justice. Together, they are the biggest organisation in the UK dedicated to securing Palestinian human rights.
 
Their crucial work involves placing pressure on the British Government, which despite a change in ruling party last year, has made no material effort to end its complicity in Israel’s genocide. Public opinion against Israel and its actions continues to grow– and this would not be possible without the tireless efforts of groups like Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
 
Vief’s compilation comprises 15 tracks from artists based across five continents, showcasing the very best the world of leftfield techno has to offer.
