Week three of our whistle stop tour of England's finer artists, and landing a bit of a coup today crew. We've not had to move far to find a creative force in full flow right now. Capturing a slice of this force thats finding its path onto the USB sticks of our scenes more discerning DJ's, in a mix loaded with exclusives and yet unheard material... Four Candles is a globally renowned DJ & producer who has released music on Bedrock Records, Forensic, ICONYC, Krafted and many more, including his own Keep Thinking imprint.
 
Influenced across the spectrum of electronic music and with a penchant for melodic & progressive house, his music has made its way into the record bags of many esteemed DJs. Indeed, ‘Devious’ was supported by none other than dance music luminary John Digweed and it wasn’t long until the track had landed on Bedrock Records and into the ears of discerning clubbers across the globe. 
 
In lineage with his unmistakeable sound, yet with a positive disregard to conform to style, he simultaneously released ‘The Traveller’ on BBC Radio 1’s Krafted; a heart-warming melodic house raver which not only landed him airtime on BBC Introducing, but also firmly positioned him as a notably versatile and exciting studio talent.

As a DJ, his sets have been lauded as “hyper-creative and forward thinking” by WePlayMusic; a statement vindicated by his recent Transitions guest mix with John Digweed, placing at Number 1 across the global Mixcloud chart within days of release.
 
Hype aside, lock into a Four Candles set and you won’t care for any of the superfluous industry chatter. There’s a core reason why there is so much love for his vibrant and expressive DJ sets..

From the bustling streets of Toronto, Amber Long makes waves with her signature sound. Supported by top-tier artists and blessed with a voice that soothes souls near and far, she has charmed audiences across countries such as Australia, the USA, the UK, the Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Qatar, Mexico, Argentina, Jamaica, and her throughout her homeland, Canada. She's smashed through the glass ceiling with her music and collaborations, which have been signed to multiple prestigious labels. 

Amber's passion for spinning is not limited just there; not only does she travel everywhere but also runs an independent label Modern Agenda - an independent label home to producers who are being championed for their work in Progressive House and Melodic Techno, primarily.  

Amber launched the LIA Series in 2021, a series of guest mixes highlighting up-and-coming female and female-representing artists from around the globe. Amber has also been hosting Frisky Radio's Rogue Radio Show since 2017 and has been involved with The Canadian Juno Awards for many years now.  

With music coursing through every vein of hers; it's easy to see why Amber believes in its power to heal us all.

Hello everyone, and welcome, this is the Il Modo Progcast, your non stop ride round the world that we call Planet Progressive! Every week we deliver you an exclusive set from a hot spot of our scene, and today we are back in BA with ... Lucas Perdomo! 

Born in Buenos Aires, Lucas Perdomo is a talented DJ and Producer whose musical journey began in 2009, after discovering his passion for electronic music. In 2015 he ventured into the world of music production, marking a point in his career that allowed him to expand his creativity.

Inspired by the ethereal sound of trance, Lucas fuses elements of progressive, melodic, indie and house in his creations, creating a sonic hybrid. His meticulous approach focuses on creating spatial and hypnotic atmospheres.

With musical influences that include John Digweed, Sasha and Hernan Cattaneo, Lucas stands out for his ability to create long, progressive sets that take the audience on a sonic journey. 

Combining melodic bass lines with hypnotic vocals and intense drops, generating a captivating contrast between the melodic and the dark, the hypnotic and the energetic, Lucas's music gets played by the likes of Hernan, Mariano Mellino, Sahar Z, Antrim, Eze Arias and many more. RUN IT UP

I've been listening to electronic music since I was old enough to tune into the John Peel show on Radio 1. Peel first introduced me to Chicago House, Detroit Electro and Rap. I would listen to an entire show with my finger hovering over the record button of my 'tape-recorder' close to the radio speaker just to record whatever 3 electronic imports he would play each night. I wish I'd kept those recordings.
From the moment I first heard 'Roxanne Shante' I sought out everything I could ranging from Kraftwerk, Mike Oldfield, Kurtis Mantronik, Africa Bambata, Grandmaster Flash, Gorgio Morodor, Axel-F, Jean Michel Jarre and just about anyone who used a synth to make music! With the arrival of House in the mid-late 80's the likes of Marshall Jefferson, Frankie Knuckles, Farley Jackmaster Funk, Steve Silk Hurley, Adonis and many more American underground House producers, the music had developed into a new, seriously exciting phenomena.
Music progressed at pace with House and Acid imports driving change, the UK in particular underwent an epiphany of sorts in the 80's and 90's. From Break-Dancing to New Romanticism, the music developed, finally morphing into the early genres of Acid Trance, Techno and Progressive Trance. Heavily influenced by American and underground Dutch and German artists and with the advent of clubbing and non-speaking mixing DJ's, it opened up a Pandora's box of new music, influences, sounds and styles. What that amounted to for me (and most others like me) was an ever-growing range of electronic music that was continually breaking free from pigeon-holes and mainstream pop culture. Electronic music had become the new classical music of a generation.
I can only say that electronic or computer music has evolved beautifully in the past 40 years and I love it as much now as the day I first heard John Peel play fantastic American imports.
I'm not anything more than a bedroom DJ and electronic music enthusiast. I have the greatest admiration for those who DJ publicly and seek to build a following or career from DJing, but that’s not a path I’ve tried to follow. I do love to put together great tunes, so for me using this sort of platform for sharing music is perfect for me. I do mixes both on my decks and using Ableton, as sometimes I find it easier to create a journey through that medium. 
As for making music, I’m slowly finding my way around Ableton in order to bring life to the musical ideas rolling around my head. 
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the mixes I post, please give me some feedback and if nothing else, support the artists themselves and buy their music.
