Amelia’s sets are filled with dark powerful kicks, warm basslines and eery vocals. 

She’s a regular for London parties such as The Sunday Afters and is making her way through the underground London scene. She pushes the darker side of minimal throughout her sets and production, and has a release out on one of RO’s many underground imprints - The Lab.

Sorin Simon has always been attracted to music and it all started in his childhood
home of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where he took piano lessons while still in school.

 in 2017 Sorin moved definitively to London where he started
playing different underground events all around London. A year later, he signed to Vivus Records, an underground/independent and vinyl-only label from South Germany. 

Sorin has played at multiple festivals both in Romania and abroad such as Monegros Desert Festival, Sonar Off in Spain, Back To The Wild and Electric Castle in Romania.

We also welcome for the first Romanian born duo Dragos Ungureanu and Gabriel Amaru. The founders of label and event My Kind of. 

Both individually and as a collective have been a staple name across some of Europe’s most popular underground spaces. These have included Fabric (UK), Club Der Visionaere (DE) and L’Antirouille (FR). 

Dragos and Gabriel have played alongside the likes of Praslea, Barac, Sammy Dee and Valentino Kanzyani to name a few. 

We also welcome Jessi. Founder of Wax Material. A mobile record store distributing a wide range of electronic music around the streets of London, as well as a few of the U.K.‘s most respected festivals. 

Known for a dark minimal sound, deeply influenced by London's raw and gritty baselines. Jessi has a genuine curiosity and an experimental approach to her sets who is most at home playing to a crowd of like minded music lovers.

Szs on his real name Szasz Cristian is a young DJ / Producer from Romania. He had his first contact with electronic music 6 years ago, attending the most underground clubs in Romania, which left an important mark on his musical style. His production is the combination of the classic minimal drums with modern rhythms, accelerated with a spatial and dark atmospheres, taking the listener on a mysterious musical journey.

Owner and Founder of the Romanian label Carpathian Sounds, he claims that he wants to create connections and support artists passionate about the underground scene from all over the world, encouraging them to express themselves freely through music.

His personal release collection was born in 2020 and he signed with record labels such as: Unk Planet Rec, Welter Records, Podvodo Records, Not Allowed, Urban MIDI Records, Zebra Rec, Between Dimension

3Minds are a trio with roots from the island of Ibiza. It is there that they nurtured a deep passion for house and techno, experiencing the magic of what a loud system can do in clubs, such as DC10, from an early age. 
Made up of brothers Joshua and Fabian Coles, with good friend Harvey Beach, they all three had early careers playing out in small venues and grass roots parties on the island. 

They have since taken their sidestepping grooves to London, where they have showcased their talents at various venues. One particular event at iconic club, The Cause, had them shaking the walls at the strike of midnight for its last party on new years eve.

When it comes to dance music, these three know it’s more than just about clubbing, it’s a family affair. With familial ties to the pioneers of tech-house, there are few who have grown up with such an intimate and inimitable understanding of what dance music can do. 

Make people move together, just like they do. Better than one.

To celebrate the release of 003 'kenzo' for Animism records we invited Modebaku to carve out a guest podcast for our channel. 

Modebakú is a London-based artist, founder, and owner of “U Series Records” well known amongst East London ravers of the local underground scene, but gaining a lot more respect internationally lately. His productions been recognised by some of the finest artists and played around festivals, parties and raves worldwide.

Born and bred on the Suffolk seaside, Vialli started his musical story with his close mate building speakers and selling records online and at pop-ups. 

This quickly turned into throwing parties around the local area, often accompanied with art installations, the occasional booking and a trademark escapist atmosphere. 

Now, fast forward a few years, he is residing in the capital and subtly making his mark on the East London underground circuit featuring regularly for The Sunday Afters and various other underground collectives. 

This mix is a neatly laced together minimal style soundtrack for the dancers.

Growing up listening to Hip-Hop and singing Jazz - Shuvaluv has grown into the music world completely organically, via his love for music and the collecting + sharing of it. Coming from the age of Soundcloud, he was given all the tools required to dig deeper into his taste while also being able to keep his finger on the pulse for fresh sounds.

Having only first touched a CDJ in summer of 2021 and first spinning a record as recently as September 2021, Shuvaluv has very quickly picked up the skills required to put on a stunning performance every time. Regardless of this relatively miniscule amount of time behind the decks, Shuvaluv played his first professional gig in February 2022 and has since then worked full time as a DJ - from playing 5 hour vinyl only Disco, Boogie and Funk sets as a resident at Mayfair members club 'Maison Estelle' , to playing Hip-Hop, Neo Soul and House as a resident at Covent Garden's 'Seven Dials Market' , to playing hard hitting and/or deep Minimal, House and Electro sets at the Peckham stomping ground 'TOLA'  - Shuvaluv has been able to hone his craft as a multi-genre Dj over the last year, while consistently introducing fresh music in seem less ways to every audience.

Shuvaluv is now fearlessly present and ready to move any crowd through his eclectic soundscape.

Ewan, also known as E.Alexander, is the founder of Mui Mui Records, established in 2021. This venture has been a long-time dream of mine, and I am thoroughly enjoying the experience.

I am blessed with two beautiful daughters, aged 4 and nearly 3 months. Their mother is of British-Chinese descent, and we communicate with them in both English and Cantonese. The name "Mui Mui" holds special significance for us, as it means "little girl" or "little sister" in Cantonese. It serves as a tribute to our family and the love we share.

Exciting things are on the horizon, with a plethora of amazing music set to be released very soon. Keep an eye out for MUIMUI 003, which will be available in August. Additionally, we will be commemorating our second anniversary at Star Lane Pizza Bar on August 6th. It's going to be a fantastic celebration!


Ewan has a rich history in the party scene, having organized events in both Edinburgh and London. Throughout the years, I have been fortunate to secure numerous residencies in both locations. Notably, I have had the privilege of playing guest slots at renowned venues such as fabric, Lion & Lamb, The Cause, and 93 Feet East, among many others.

My journey has taken me to incredible events and destinations. I had the opportunity to participate in Off Sonar parties several years ago, and I even experienced the unique and vibrant atmosphere of Burning Man in 2014. These experiences have shaped my musical career and have been instrumental in my growth as an artist.

We are delighted to welcome Berna to the Animism podcast series. 

Born and breed in Gran Canaria, Berna has been formulated to seek and care for underground music, building over 15 years its own relevance as one of the key figures in the electronic scene of the Spanish island with residencies at the local Velvet, Rebel and Mood clubs.

Merging a unique flair and methodical ear, Berna’ sophisticated, effective and dynamic sets are deeply marked from timeless house to the very finest of micro, acid and breakbeat. 

As well as an experienced selector, Berna has released colorful remixes for Warm Keys EP and Reverse EP, altogether with his own production, the sensorial and striking eponymous Dipstick EP, combining groovy notes to a deep house imprint.

His friendships in the island and support around the world have brought around him an authentic communit of music lovers. In 2008, he joins Javier Carballo to
create Underyourseat, record label and event agency, proving the worth of bringing international DJs to the island while supporting the local scene with underground music events such as the Soundgardens, MTRC and more.

Since 2017, Berna expands his artistic horizons discovering outer cities like Barcelona, London and Berlin. He has now been living in the UK capital for few years, participating in the local raves and parties.

Berna keeps in the lookout for spine-tingling sounds as well as those flickering, meaningful experiences in the underground scene while he continues building his
trajectory as a DJ and music producer.

Marcel Turenne is a dj & producer born and raised in Southern California. 

In light of this recording, he shares his ambient and obscure sounds which are suitable for meditation, study and relaxation. 

The mix is heavily influenced by artists such as Jan Jelinek & The Chi Factory using only vinyl.

For maximum listening experience, we recommend devoting and carving out time to fully immerse yourself in this eclectic ambient soundscape by the extremely talented Marcel.
