This is our gargantuan motto at Fauve Records.
With this mission statement arose a new project called 西 WEST & 東 EAST.

Born from the desire to link the world of the West & the East. The idea was to ask two artist/band to collaborate on a split EP, with one original track each and finally to remix each others’ work.

For Volume 1, it is with humble esteem that we present you to Mameen 3 from Belgium/Morocco and Dea from Indonesia. We are extremely happy to launch the new series with this extraordinary collection of retro-futuristic club music.

First up is Mameen 3 with their original title “Dada Glitter”. A hypnotic burner that feels like the instrumental B-side of a fitness instruction song made by Ziad Rahbani's grandson in 2043. Wake up in utopia and find yourself high on XTC on a glittery Bellydance rave under the Moonshine of Djerbas beaches. An absolute sparkler faithfully signed: soFa & Cheb Runner.

On remix duty of the previously mentioned track is the Indonesian future legend called Dea. After getting his hands on a vintage vocoder he pulled out all its magic blessing onto this stripped-down oriental-future-groover. A highly forceful bassline and effectively simple punchy beats do justice to this cosmic vocoder-funk gem. With lush chords and modestly well done modular toms, he puts the cherry on the cake. A masterpiece in a back-alley illegal trafficking vibe with intimate curiosity!

On the flip side is Dea’s original piece “Mesopotamia”. Just when you thought you’ve travelled enough in this EP, the shaman takes it a step further by landing you on a planet where all genres live together in harmony. Classical, space odyssey, salsa, middle-eastern, you name it, the influences are endless. With a clean yet effective 4x4 analogue-sounding pulse, he handles a multiverse of emotions that will take you on the best drugless trip you can experience.

Last but not least, Mameen 3’s “Rai Not Raimix” finishes the EP in style. Re-inventing the genre-less track by giving it an aspect of a sorcerer marching band. Amidst airy FM trumpets, off-groove claps and enthralled choirs the duo brings along the final smoky touch of this treasury of oddities.

Written, recorded and produced by Maximilian Wittwer in Hamburg 2020/21. Additional remix production by Lucas Croon. The original version of "Kaputt" is included on WINTER 2's debut album.

Lucas Croon is a member of Stabil Elite and resident DJ at the Düsseldorf post-Hacienda club Salon des Amateurs. 

WINTER 2 was founded by Maximilian Wittwer and Christoph Romahn in Hamburg in 2020.

In the middle of the summer Yeho, an Israeli musician coming from Tel Aviv, was wandering around Italy and randomly he found himself in the “Quintino Basement”, lair of Ninja Exotic Machine.
This casual encounter gave birth to three new tracks where the
duo’s downtempo and tribal style merges with Yeho’s crisp and raw vocal together with intriguing percussions samples extracted from live recordings of the percussionist Andrea Greco.
The result is an Ep called “36 questions” out on Pho Bho Records on the 14th of October.

Front De Cadeaux - Sad Is Fashion

On their way from Roma to Brussels, Maurizio and Ugo AKA Front de Cadeaux (F2C) made a little stop in Paris to slow down the beat at Antinote.

We are thrilled to come back after a little break with the first EP from these two big boys on the label. For our first release of 2022 we offer the double smasher "Sad is Fashion" and "Trans Emois", two heavy and slow club weapons. These two rockets will please techno and trance heads as well as bass, dubstep lovers.

Antinote have been fans of F2C since their collaboration with Lexidisques in 2016 and of course their limited edition hit "La Ketamine” which was released 2 years laters by Emet.

Hope you'll enjoy the very simple style and straight to the point club music as much as we do as there is more to come from Front de Cadeaux on the label later this year.

Midnight Manoeuvres steps out of the shadows, scans the room and proceeds to melt minds and bodies with Pastime, a freakishly accomplished 4-tracker that sees the London-based artist carve out a new breaks inspired direction for himself.

An intrepid and meticulously realised effort, Pastime sees the scales perfectly balanced between retrofuturism and cinematic club pressure and marks out Midnight Manoeuvres as the perfect torchbearer to move Badlands forward.

Melbourne party troupe, Animals Dancing return with the label’s sixth disc, Psytube; a mind-melting trip from Lyon duo, The Pilotwings. 

The synth-heavy house pair, synonymous with the BFDM label channel their digi synth euphoria into trance not trance and acid atmospheres across a four track EP. 

From the subtle breaks and pan flute/acid combo of Trance En Aubrac, steady synth flutter of Future Glouglou to the full tilt restless psychedelia of Yakado and cinematic acid stepping Gig in the Ocean,

CHOISIS TON ARME

Avtomat jest jednym z najważniejszych artystów queerowych w Polsce, producentem, DJ-em i wokalistą. Organizuje cykle imprez (m.in. Ciężki Brokat), należy też do prężnego kolektywu Oramics. „Gusła (Human Rites)” to jego pierwsze wydawnictwo od siedmiu lat. Premiera EP-ki 6 listopada nakładem Tańców.

EP-ka „Gusła (Human Rites)” powstała w okresie trudnym zarówno dla Avtomata, jak i każdej innej osoby queerowej w Polsce. Muzyka po części narodziła się w trakcie artystycznej rezydencji w Centrum Sztuki Współczesnej w Warszawie, gdzie kolektyw Oramics odprawił queerowy rytuał uzdrowienia. Artysta opisuje ją jako „kolektywny krzyk społeczności postawionej pod ścianą”. W czerwcu 2020, w przeddzień performansu, Avtomat został aresztowany protestując przeciwko bezprawnemu zatrzymaniu Margot Szutowicz z kolektywu Stop Bzdurom oraz narastającej opresji wobec społeczności LGBTQ+ w Polsce. 

Materiał składa się z czterech agresywnych, klubowych utworów. Ich korzeni można szukać m.in. w polirytmii i synkopach tańców takich jak oberek czy chodzony. Avtomat ma również smykałkę do domowych perkusjonaliów oraz przerabiania starych pieśni na wokalne drony i desperackie wrzaski. EP-kę otwiera tytułowy numer, w którym łoskot garnków i patelni ułożony jest w wirującą, ażurową strukturę. Pozwala to na pozostawienie przestrzeni w miksie dla wprowadzającego napięcie, gumowego groove'u, który ciągnie kawałek do przodu. Z kolei „Szeptucha (Hex Therapy)” to Avtomat gotowy do konfrontacji. Producent ściera ze sobą pełne dramaturgii dźgnięcia akordów, wycie wiedźm i metaliczne dźwięki, rzucając klątwę na osoby odpowiedzialne za codzienną przemoc wobec osób queer.

„Stop Bzdurom (The Bad Gays)” wydaje się być najbardziej wściekłym utworem na płycie. Kawałek dedykowany jest tytułowemu kolektywowi i jego walce z pseudoreligijnymi bzdurami głoszonymi przez podejrzane organizacje pro-life. Ciężarówki oklejone homofobicznymi hasłami jeżdżą po całej Polsce w obstawie policji, nie dziwi więc, że numer oparty jest na dźwięku rzężącego silnika. Inwazja dźwięków, krzyków, uderzeń i brzmień suki biłgorajskiej nawiązuje otwarcie do tej nierównej batalii.

Zamykający EP-kę kawałek „Nieludzie (Ignorance Ha)” jest zaktualizowaną wersją utworu ze składanki „Total Solidarity” wydanej przez Oramics w 2019 roku. Tym razem to nowy minister edukacji Przemysław Czarnek i jego dehumanizujący społeczność LGBTQ+ cytat zostają zagłuszone dźwiękami nadchodzącej zguby. Zniekształcony bas i powolna dekonstrukcja ballroomowej stylistyki brzmią teraz bardziej złowieszczo niż kiedykolwiek.

Zrealizowano w ramach programu stypendialnego Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego – Kultura w sieci.

Avtomat - Gusła (Human Rites)

Animaux is a six track release by Justas Jelisejevas, it’s his second self-released mini-album that revolves around topics of animate reality, visual arts and music.
The idea for the release came into fruition through sonic experiments made in the past while looking for ways to substitute human singing with other sounds. In simple terms animals are the singers and lead
performers in each track.
The instrumental parts of every track are made to support vocalizations of animals and animal voices are chosen to resonate with digital instruments. Animaux explores and interprets wild animals trough electronic music.
