As part of our mission to connect the world with a global techno sound - We are releasing one of the first ‘Concept’ Techno Records.  Paired with equally psychedelic artwork, this album is a 'jungle-themed' release, inspired by organic sounds, lush world rhythms, and a focus on producers based in warmer climates. We feature music from Brazil, Uruguay, Malta, Australia and much more - as we take the focus away from club environments, to the places where the sun can shine, a clave pattern pushes the beat forward, and the heat is welcome.  ‘JUNGLE’ is our next step in offering the future of dance music something fresh and different ~

Concept Text:

ANIMA’s Third Adventure - ‘ORBIT’ is inspired by Outer Space. Star dust and circular rhythms. The trajectory of moons around planets, planets around suns. Creating an eternal cycle. An ethereal dance. Like molecules and atoms spinning endlessly the same way.  Beautiful bleeps, polyrhythms, and polymeters were encouraged and delicately disguised within the orbital nature of each track in this galactic release. ~

For our second installment, we present a captivating adventure by Freya K; highlighted by bouncy rhythms and an endless excitement that will get you motivated for whatever the day brings!

Freya: My relationship with music has been a journey of exploring and constantly deepening my understanding and approach - and so it will hopefully always be. My musical journey started with classical singing, later I taught myself the guitar, played in an indie band and produced my own songs until I finally found djing as an independent tool. 
Nowadays when I dj I use music to create a journey that combines infectious rhythms with the depths of sound. I like everything dancefloor oriented, energetic music that makes people want to move, regardless of genres. This is what (good) music does to me so I want to bring this exact feeling to more people. 

I think it’s always important to see the meta perspective in and of music and find your place in that surrounding. Develop from there into your own sound, towards something that moves YOU!

ANIMA #001 Ruslan Mays

We are absolutely honored to have Ruslan Mays launch and open our Anima Podcast Series. He embodies everything we look for in an DJ; A strong passion for music, and authentic performances.

A Kyiv techno DJ, now in Berlin ~

Mays is one of the first Ukrainian DJs who started playing proper techno for big crowds in the 2000s. Back then, Ukraine had only rare musical geeks who discovered the genre. So Mays helped pioneer the techno wave in Ukraine, no doubt.

Ruslan Mays in Ukraine is a resident of the “VESELKA” parties, a regular guest of the “∄” and Arsenal XXII clubs and some big festivals, including ICKPA and Povitrya. As you might have guessed, these days he is still known as a proper techno DJ who owns a fantastic masterpiece of playing. Over 20 years of experience as a vinyl playing DJ, cements him as a real guru of the techno arts.

We have some exciting news… Oskar Knickelbein is officially joining ANIMA as our first resident announcement. As part of our commitment to being a unique influence on the local and extended music scene, it became increasingly important for ANIMA to find ambassadors to represent our vision and carry the sound. During our constant search it was evident that DJs who have a spiritual connection to the music, reflected our event's values and resonated with us the most. Oskar was one of these individuals. Not only a talented producer but a growing force on the decks…the journey with music began very early for him. Starting with piano and ableton sessions - it eventually evolved into a fully-developed studio production. 

“My name is Oskar Knickelbein and I produce electronic music.

Over the years, as music became more and more meaningful  to me, I began seeking ways to understand it in a deeper way. Whether it's piano or synthesizer, it's just a medium to express yourself or something else. Writing music with this spirit will give the listener or dancer a memory, something to remember and think of at another time in their life.

I do it with joy and peace

Maybe music can heal the world”

We are thrilled to announce… Hekato is officially joining the ANIMA family as a Resident ~

Always moving with elegance and grace, Hekato is an artist who's been present on the scene since 2019. As a co-founder of the rising Całość label and collective, she has established herself as one of Poland's most recognizable talents and rapidly growing artists. With a series of outstanding performances in the country, she caught our eyes, and captivated our ears; thus becoming a frequent guest in Berlin - Visiting venues such as About Blank, Else, and Tresor in the last year.

Hekato has been involved in music and art since childhood. She learned folk singing and dancing as a child, and was also drawn towards painting. Julia is originally from Rybnik, but now lives in Wroclaw, where she is developing her musical career. Initially fascinated by deep techno, she began to lean towards faster sounds as time passed, even incorporating trance accents into her sets. Her performances are devoid of compromise, and she prioritizes quality and originality - which makes her an exceptional fit at ANIMA.

Despite her strong onstage personality, Hekato is an introverted soul who expresses her emotions through music, while taking listeners on a deep sonic journey.  

We cannot wait to share her sound with you ~

Welcome to the Jungle. ANIMA Records follows up its debut release with JUNGLE [002]. As part of our mission to connect the world with a global techno sound - We are releasing one of the first ‘Concept’ Techno Records. Paired with equally psychedelic artwork, this album is a 'jungle-themed' release, inspired by organic sounds, lush world rhythms, and a focus on producers based in warmer climates. We feature music from Brazil, Uruguay, Malta, Australia and much more - as we take the focus away from club environments, to the places where the sun can shine, a clave pattern pushes the beat forward, and the heat is welcome. ‘JUNGLE’ is our next step in offering the future of dance music something fresh and different ~

An ethereal dance. Like molecules and atoms spinning endlessly the same way. Beautiful bleeps, polyrhythms, and polymeters were encouraged and delicately disguised within the orbital nature of each track in this galactic release.

Gustavo Bassani is a techno producer, DJ, multi-instrumentalist and sound designer based in Porto Alegre, Brazil. His diverse background in organic instruments and a musical approach to techno is what gravitated us towards his sound. With deep fast productions that are structured around polyrhythms, groovy chords and percussive hypnotic beats, his music has recently been gaining notoriety; featured by many techno DJs around the world, including MARRØN, Ritchie Hawtin, Truncate, Marcal, Dub Fire, Freddy K, Rene Wise, Luke Slater, Kr!z, Yanamaste, Nina Kraviz, Lindsey Herbert, Justine Perry, Future 666, Luigi Madonna, Lea Occhi, Paula Koski, André Salata, Vinicius Honorio, Alex Justino, among others.
