First Recorded Mix // Peak-Time Techno

Dec 2022 // Recording of an ecstatic dance workshop at Open Source FNQ. Ranging from soft & flowing music to big bassy drops. Tribal/organic house/electronica the main genres throughout but plenty of instruments & sounds to break up the step. Music will rise & fall in both tempo & intensity, last few songs are quite explosive before bringing the tempo down slightly to help remove stagnant energy, finally finishing on a fun song for you and/or your tribe. 

Dance yourself into a trance & surrender to the rhythm of the music. Move your body however you want, free from intoxicants, judgment & criticism. Close down your eyes if you need to and use this music as a form of release.

My Ecstatic Dance Workshop recorded 27/11/2023 at Dragonfly, Cape Tribulation. This night was a collaboration with brother James R Thomas who provided a breathtaking sound journey prior to the dance workshop. 

This set has an eclectic mix of genres, ebbing and flowing between sounds and intensities. Handpans, didgeridoo, drum & bass, Afro beats, reggae, and much more. 💃🏽 Let me know what you think.

Bush Party Opener // Oct 2024

Recorded at home during a tropical low - intense rainfall leaving us no choice but to stay inside. 

This is an extension of my previous organic/progressive house mix, albeit getting rid of the first few tracks and adding more throughout. Generally speaking, I'm not thrilled about the mix - mistakes were made and I know I can do better, in terms of song choice and transitions. But I'm too hard on myself (as we all can be) and if I only uploaded mixes I was fully confident in, I wouldn't ever upload anything. Sorry if there are any recording discrepancies - fairly certain my controller is on the blink and I can't afford a new one just yet 🫠

So here it is! Enjoy it, give me constructive feedback, and here's to becoming better each and every time I step up to my controller. 🍻

Tropical Low Progressive House Mix

Here's my set from Resonant Frequency Black & Gold Edition, 4pm March 15 2025

Huge learning experience, nerves that I've only felt a couple times before, and having to hold composure when things didn't go quite as planned to begin with - trouble linking my laptop to the hardware, cue points not loading properly, and therefore having to play my set in a different manner to how I had rehearsed it. In the midst of all of the panic, dread and fear of embarrassment, I forgot to hit record 🫠

All things considered, I'm grateful to Resonant Frequency for having me on and grateful for all the things that I learned about myself in the process. Inspired to keep practising and developing my skills. Thank you for listening and I hope to lean into more experiences very soon. 🙏🫡❤️

The British underground music scene sparked his curiosity but the serene Australian bush captured his heart. 

After spending most of his life in Europe, Animistic, or Morrison Cooper, found himself on the dance-floor of official and unofficial raves and bush parties throughout multiple Australian states, exploring a new world of community and music. After witnessing people do great things on stage, and with a profound love for many genres of music, he knew that he wanted to be up on the stage delivering his own curated sets to the collective. He considers himself to be more founded in melodic, progressive & psychedelic techno, minimal/deep tech & progressive psy-trance, but Animistic is constantly endeavouring to develop his skillset and try his hands in different modalities. 

Influenced by deep, thick & grungy basslines, psychedelic tones & textures, rolling rhythms, ambient melodies, and much more, he hopes to be the sound you've been looking for.
