Born as Maura Anselmi I gave a name to my artistic soul and now I sing under the stage-name of ani moore.

I think I started singing shortly after learning to speak, perhaps thanks to some genes inherited from my grandfather, a music teacher and a great fan of Opera. I made my first steps in the school days, singing as a soloist in the choir of my primary school and since then I have studied music to get better, learning more about my voice. Accompanied by my biggest fans, Mom and Dad, I approached the stage with the first competitions that have given me great satisfaction, victories, and the chance to perform several times on TV both on national channels (RAI) and local ones expecially in Veneto and Rome.

My musical roots are Italian coming from my passion for the great myths of Mina and Mia Martini, who my mother used to listen everyday during my childhood, but my musical curiosity has always inspired me to listen to a miscellaneous of generes spacing from Cyndi Lauper to Ella Fitzgerald, from Mariah Carey and the Fugees to Eminem, from Skunk Anansie to Vivaldi, and so on.
Passing through a short digressions into rock, jazz and dance music, in wich I wrote and sang the lyrics of a '90s Italian dance song become an European hit, I fell in love with urban music thanks my man.
Although I have always worked on hip-hop projects of music producers friends of mine, it has happened in 2002 that my boyfriend made me discover that my heart beats a R&B and NeoSoul rhythm
From that day I have recovered lost time with a day-by-day growing immersion in Italian and foreign urban music and in the early 2011 I have funded my band "ani moore & the family affair" which still performs with a repertoire that ranges from Alicia Keys to Cee-Lo Green, from Mary J Blige to Christina Aguilera.
Then, in last months, I have finally reached the right moment to start to work on my solo project, which I'm currently developing.

My greatest achievements are the understanding that passion must come from the heart and the belief that true success is to live my dream.

Nata come Maura Anselmi ho dato un nome alla mia anima artistica e ora sono nota come nome di ani moore. 

Credo di aver iniziato a cantare poco dopo aver imparlato a parlare, forse grazie a qualche gene ereditato da mio nonno maestro di musica e grande patito di opera. Ho mosso i primi passi canori già ai tempi della scuola come solista del coro e da allora ho sempre studiato musica per poter migliorare imparando a conoscere la mia voce. Accompagnata dai miei più grandi fans, mamma e papà, mi sono avvicinata al palco con i primi concorsi che mi hanno dato grandi soddisfazioni, vittorie, e la possibilità di esibirmi più volte in televisione in Rai e su reti locali sia in Veneto che nella capitale.

Le mie radici musicali sono italiane e nascono dalla passione per i grandi miti di Mina e Mia Martini che mia madre mi faceva ascoltare, ma la mia curiosità musicale mi ha sempre spinta ad un ascolto eterogeneo che spaziava da Cyndi Lauper a Ella Fitzgerald, a Mariah Carey, ai Fugees, a Eminem, agli Skunk Anansie, a Vivaldi, e così via.
Passata anche con il canto per brevi parentesi rock, jazz e un successo dance negli anni ’90 in cui ho prestato la mia voce, la folgorazione per la musica black è arrivata assieme al grande amore.
Già da un po’ collaboravo, con sempre maggiore coinvolgimento, a progetti hip-hop di artisti nazionali (collaborazioni che proseguono tutt'oggi) ma fu proprio il mio ragazzo, nel 2002, a farmi scoprire che il mio cuore batteva un ritmo R&B e Neo-Soul. Da allora ho recuperato il tempo perduto in una sempre crescente immersione nella musica black italiana e straniera fino alla fondazione della mia band “ani moore & the family affair” nel 2011 con cui tuttora mi esibisco in un repertorio che spazia da Alicia Keys, a Cee-lo Green, passando per Mary J Blige e Christina Aguilera, e finalmente all’approdo al mio progetto solista a cui sto attualmente lavorando.

Il mio più grande traguardo è stato però capire veramente che la passione deve nascere dal cuore e che il vero successo è credere di poter vivere il mio sogno.
