Anja Cherry

Born (3rd January 1989) and raised in Essen, Germany I always wanted to reach for the stars.
I grew up in a working class family and worked in evening and weekend jobs myself from a very young age. 
I always had a passion for writing.
Expressing my feelings and communicating in the written form was always much easier for me than verbal communication.

Back in Germany when I left school I wasn’t too sure what to do with my life and what direction life would take. I was kind of lost, trying to find myself.

I decided to take things into my own hands and booked a one way ticket to London, UK.
From then on I had to grow up the hard way. I moved to another country with another language all on my own without money, a place to stay or people I would know.

I did ‘couch surfing’ for a few months until I managed to rent a room in east London, met lovely people who are still now my closest friends and started a business career from scratch.

Starting off in bilingual research, going into customer service, then lots of receptionist roles in the city, I am now in my first managerial position in a multi occupied office building, climbing the ladder of business success.

Although this sounds pretty fulfilling for most people, it is not for me.

I never lost my love for writing so I started a blog about my experiences in London.
A few years back when I was in a relationship with my ex-partner I decided to write a song for him for our anniversary. This was how ‘Do you remember’ was created.
I sat down and wrote our story on paper. How we met, what struggles we‘ve been through and my hopes for the future.
A colleague of mine at the time had a recording studio so I paid for the studio time and we started working on the anniversary surprise song.
After one night in the studio it was done and I received great feedback for it.

It was so much fun and I lost myself in the depth of writing and recording as I majorly enjoyed the entire process.

In the second week of September 2015 ‘it’ came over me again. I just sat down with a piece of paper and started writing a song-‘Wicked Temptress’. It is about a misunderstood, powerful, confident woman who has a soft inner core (which probably relates to a lot of women these days).

I would love to share my passion with the rest of the world and be able to present my written songs to an audience.


I truly believe that Anja Cherry’s journey has just started…..
