Prayer Of Jabez ( Remix)

Anji Collins is certainly no stranger to gospel music! God has, had his arms around Anji since the day she was born! her biological mother left her in the hospital at birth, she was then adopted at the age of three by Joseph and Valera Whiteside.

The Lord strategically placed Anji in a home where she would have a solid foundation to grow and learn of the love of God.

 

Anji’s mother founded and taught, the laboratory technology program at Maharry Medical College in Nashville Tennessee, was the first African American to graduate from North Division High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and also the first African American to work as a Registered Laboratory Technologist at a Medical office in downtown Milwaukee.  She loved the Lord and taught Anji at an early age the love of God. Her father Joseph Edgar Whiteside a former camera man at the Ritz in Chicago, entrepreneur, and a love for artist in his era; such as” Tommy Dorsey, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Count Basie, Lena Horne ,Mahalia Jackson, Glen Miller and Lou Armstrong” exposed Anji to the art of  singing. Singing along with Judy Garland, Mahalia Jackson and Billie Holiday is how Anji began to develope her God given gift of music.

She attended North Division High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was at North Division under the direction of Arlene Sckerowski, she discovered her true love for theatrical arts and music. While there, she vigorously pursued drama classes as well as music and, later went on to win first place in Milwaukee’s summer fest! Where she opening with “summertime” Gershwin’s’ PORGY AND BESS.

 

As time progressed, she released “Since I turned Sixteen” an original blues song, written by Robert Fischer. Toured local clubs with Tenderness a local trio who appeared on Bobby Jones Gospel Christmas Celebration. Opened concerts for blues artist Tyrone Davis and Z Z Hill, and Gospel greats Bishop Walter Hawkins and Lashaun Pace at the Alabama A& M University.

​Anji is quite the entrepreneur, she released her first CD “Learning” in 2008   a compilation of songs from her heart, her latest release “Prayer of Jabez” a song of hope that God hears us, and He will give us what we ask. founded Malachi Records & Publishing, LLC a  Gospel Indie Label and Malachi Ministry  Forum, a networking ministry for singers, song writers, authors, praise dancers, medical missionaries, producers, pastors, consultants, prayer warriors and motivational speakers that desire to carry the message of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ.

She has shared the same stage with Lucinda Moore 2011 Stella Award Winner Gospel Artist at Vision of Faith benefit concert for the Homeless and Domestic Violence Survivors in New Britain Connecticut. Opened "A Time Of Refreshing” with Dr. Ben Tankard. Presented by The Great Exchange Church of Jesus Christ International.  Featured gospel artist at The City of New Britain- Mayor Timothy O’Brien Jr. and The Human Rights and Opportunities Commemoration of the life of Rev Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Anji has been singing for many years, it is song that has connected her to Gods thrown. She is a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault and supportshttp://nomore.org/ campaign to stop the violence a vocalist extraordinaire, talented, anointed and beautiful, perusing a career in songwriting, singing and ministry with a long term desire to build a Christ centered nonprofit crisis intervention center related to sexual assault and domestic violence that will provide for victims housing, counseling and resources to begin again.  She finds healing in music and desires to share her experiences to help others overcome.
