"Cota Cota no Malawi" is about being born and growing up in Mozambique. The song has a touch of humour and lightness, characteristic in the Music from the regions where I was growing up. 
 It was recorded in one take. I messed it all up, but it makes me smile when I listen to it. More takes to get it right would most probably take this smile away. Hope You smile 2.

Sintra is a Magic green little mountain, a sleeping volcano, one of the most beautiful places in this Planet. To all the magic beings and spiritual creatures including Cats and Dogs and also my Father that lived there as my neighbour, and I never Knew that he was my Father. This was composed in 1994, and my Father was still alive back then.

Minime`s Daughter, The Roving Kobold - Celtic Harp - C minor 1

The song tells how Bonnie Prince Charlie escaped in a small boat (after the defeat of his Jacobite rising of 1745), with the aid of Flora MacDonald, disguised as a serving maid.
 The song is a traditional expression Jacobitism its story has also entered Scotland as a national legend.
Can You imagine how they were feeling! 
After loosing a terrible battle, this few People manage to survive and escape with their wounded King,
then at night, they row their little Boat through icy waters into a safe Isle.
"War and Grief", goes on still today in our dangerous times!
So many deaths, 
so many innocent people suffering for the insanity of just a few !
Skye Boat Song, makes me always cry.

Skye Boat Song - Lap or Gothic Harp - Scottish Folk Song

Pavana alla Venetiana - Lap or Gothic Harp - 
Joan Ambrosio Dalza (1508) was an Italian lutenist and composer. 
Nothing is known about his life.
 Dalza's music is, for the most part, comparatively to the trend of his times, simple and easy to perform. 
The composer himself acknowledged the fact, and promised to publish more complex pieces at a later date.
 It is currently unknown whether this has been realized. 
Dalza's output is important because it consists almost entirely of original music. 
Furthermore, Dalza's collection includes the earliest known pavanes, which are also the earliest known variations : all pavane alpa venetiana feature harmonic variations with a loosely defined tonic. 
Dalza's pieces are arranged symmetrically by key: G, C, D (with F), C (with E), G. They range from 16 (number 1) to 42 bars (numbers 3 and 4); the material essentially consists of static chords alternating with short fast passages. I did here a transposition for the "little Lap Harp", to be played in the key of "F"

Pavana alla Venetiana - lap or Gothic Harp

O´Carolan was an Irish Composer, that lived way back in the 17th. Century. Blind due to smallpox in his young ages, he became a musician and his Melodies were later noted on sheet music by his soon. His way of playing, his arrangements or accompaniments, (or "productions" how we would say today!) are lost, because he could not wright it himself, they did not have recording technology back in those times, and most of his music was published after his death, so he was not there to "check it out" ! We have, between 200 and 300 from his melodies left. I made this arrangement for the little Lap Harp (or a Gothic Harp), one very similar to those that O`Carolan used to play with, and I tried to make this "production" inspired by the descriptions from people and friends who Loved him, and heard him playing. I am very inspired also by paintings from him, and anything that brings me closer to what we could call "Time travel". It was more or less 300 years ago, and Ireland was having a real bad time against the English occupation. O` Carolan still managed to have a respectful "Bard life stile" and he was than later named as - "The Last Irish Bard". This is however not an "Historic Interpretation" on Historical Instruments. This is only my own personal and individual approach to the Music of this Great Man that I Love and feel so close. This arrangement for the little Harp is easy playable, even a Child can do it.

Carolan`s Ramble To Cashel - O`Carolan - Lap Harp - E Minor

Händel`s Passacaille is an exciting masterpiece, it was originally written for the harpsichord. 
I did not use repetitions, embellishments or much of other interpretation signals on this score to keep it clear, simple and very close to the original score.
The performance on modern instruments will naturally make use of some nuance although the musical structure of the piece does not require much of it. 
In many interpretations, every 4 bars will be repeated two times all along the piece with more or less contrast in loudness and variations on each repetition. 
That obviously allows the performer to explore his or her own creativity and the piece becomes much longer.

Violin Duet Galanteio

A chamarrita é uma dança originária de Portugal continental, que com o decorrer dos tempos se desenvolveu nas Ilhas dos Açores desta forma. 
Embora ainda não se utilize a arpa gótica na região, esta pequena peça para a arpa de colo, é uma versão instrumental bastante fiel á tradição tonal, melódica e rítmica em uso nomeadamente na ilha do Pico. Divirtam-se muito - "ólh`ó Pico".

The Chamarrita is a dance that was originated in mainland Portugal, which over the course of time has developed on the Azores Islands in this way.
Although the Gothic harp is not yet played in the region, this small piece for the lap harp is quite faithful to the tonal, melodic and rhythmic tradition in use on the island of Pico. Learn the Chamarrita and Have a lot of fun.

Dear Friends Bach is Love!
As a violin player this was always one of my beloved pieces and it has accompanied all my Life.
The G minor Fuga is the most compact of the three fugues in the volume for violin solo (and note that in this versions they are not in fact fugues in the proper sense of the word, but rather a kind of fugue/Baroque-concerto hybrid form). It was also transcribed for lute by Bach at some later time (BWV 1000).
My arrangement is based on a version of this piece for the organ made by Bach himself - BWV 539. I follow very intimately the organ version, not adding or letting out any of the original notes. 
As an arrangement I transposed it to H-Minor and some of the notes where made through the interpretation symbols more or less shorter in order to accentuate the polyphonic, rhythmic and natural dynamic of the piece. I also added some legatos. Crescendos, or fortes and similar indications are left out like in the original, waiting for your own interpretation.
In the musical consciousness of Bach the polyphony and dialog between the voices were a projection of an ideal world for the Human Society and this should be in the first line of focus and in the mind of all the members in the group. 
The power of this piece comes from within its structure and relays in its polyphonic dimension. 
Allow yourself to focus on the Art of enhancing the beauty of this dialog, the bless of communicating with each other.
Bach is Love - Love each another
I really advise all performers to have a very humble and sensitive approach in the interpretation of this piece towards loudness because you will have to be listening to each other very carefully while performing.
Linear time, sound and silence are the basic of dynamic expression. Dynamic will than happen naturally and without much effort when bringing the „Art of playing the silence“ and the Art of the „duration of the notes“ to a state of consciousness within the whole piece itself.
Often in the old music notation the duration of the notes is longer written in the score then it should be played. Understandable because It takes a lot more time for a composer to write in detail the sound and the silence than to write only the raw length of the notes! Back in those times the performing artists were trained very well to read their raw parts and became very skilled in making their own thing out of the scores so the composers did not have to worry with so much detail like nowadays. In some scores we even find words like:-„please play this note simply as written and without embellishments“!
On the original score of the Fuga a sixth voice joins the group between bars sixty and sixty one and this voice can be heard very well in the sound file.
This „Ghost voice“ is noted on the clarinet part as an extended possibility. To play it with just one clarinet is absolutely possible as well as arbitrary. Do at will some experiments and let than the group decide. In case of doubt play simply the bottom voice or let yourself get inspired with the sound file. One of my suggestions would be also to play the bottom line as long as the other one is silent, than jump to the upper voice as it comes in and go back again to your usual voice while the other voice „takes a break“.

This work brought me a new insight into the consciousness and the universal nature of Bach`s music. 

It requires high skilled and experienced artists to execute.

Bach - Fuga BWV 539 - Windwood Quintet

The Princess Of Sintra can be performed by a group of six artists, or even seven, nine, one thousand or more! 
It can be played by a complete chamber string orquestra with harp. 
Although not a beginners choice, it is a very flexible piece and very useful for all kinds of events. It is relatively easy to perform and
once thoroughly learned and played „Live“ you will experience a great rewarding feed back of its magical power upon the public.
I advise a pedal or a chromatic Harp to be used in the performance of this piece. 
The Harp part can be also performed solo without the ensemble.
When playing the harp with the rest of the ensemble it might be better to perform it mostly as it was written.

Some interpretation symbols where used in the score as a performance suggestion. Most of the score is left virgin to the interpretation of the artists involved, particularly the use of bowing and fingering. Feel Free to apply in this piece the Art of bowing that expresses entirely your individual skills.

„Mimi`s Dream“ is a piece for a mixed ensemble of about 18 musicians. Pan flute, Soprano Recorder 1, Soprano recorder 2, alto flute, Tenor Recorder, Bass Recorder, Bass Flute, Bells, tubular bells, Chimes, percussion, drums, Harp, Celesta, Double Bass, BW tubes.
It is a flexible piece and very easy for some of the performers, so it can be played by a mixed group of beginners, middle and advanced musicians altogether.

Gnome`s Dream was designed to be performed by a group of five artists, or even seven, nine, one thousand or more! 
Any kind of diatonic Harp can be used to perform this piece. 
When playing the harp with the rest of the ensemble it might be better to perform it mostly as it was written.
 In the absence of a Double bass, than should the cello take its part.
In the case of an ensemble with more artists where we have already formed a bowed stringed orquestra, The double bass while playing the introduction of the piece remains solo and it will only become reenforced on the Tutti. It would be good to tune the E string of the double bass down to a D but if this is not possible than simply play the lower „D“ notes one octave higher.
It is a perfect piece for a mixed group of early beginners and „early soloists“, it is very easy to perform. It can be played by a group of five artists, as well as a complete string orquestra with harp.
Some interpretation symbols where used in the score as a performance suggestion. Most of the score is left virgin to the interpretation of the artists involved, particularly the use of bowing and fingering. It is a very flexible piece that can be used in all kinds of events.

Dear music Lovers and Friends.
Vivace For Violin And Horn 
I was so impressed after listening to some of the wonderful recordings of Elmira Darvarova on the violin and Howard Wall on the Horn. 
It inspired me to finish a duet that toke birth back in the times when I started playing violin. 
Now after 40 years I guess it is almost ready!!!
I am very grateful for their inspiration.
It is dedicated to - „Elmira and Howard“
The piece requires high skilled and experienced artists.
I have used some interpretation symbols to suggest an interpretation. Most of the bowing is left to your own interpretation.

"Endless Patchwork for Violin and Horn“ require quite some level of dexterity to perform but it is still reasonably humane. The Horn plays a „cantabile“ melody amidst a series of harmonic sequences given by the violin part. 
Due to its polyphonic and harmonic structure the Violin part can also be performed solo.
In different situations it is always wise to adjust some technical details to the performance.
I tried to keep the violin part as free as possible from bowing, fingerings and other technical remarks, so that one can easily apply his or her own personal interpretation choices. 
There are two Violin parts in this volume, one without bowing remarks or much of any other interpretation symbols and the other one with some suggestions -„here and there, but not everywhere“. 
There is no definitive version for this piece.

Endless Patchwork For Violin And Horn

Springtime For Emma is a multidimensional Love song. It is my Love song.
      It was composed in the woods under an umbrella, on an intense green and wet Springtime. 
      Very Romantic and written with a joyful spirit in mind. It became an Homage to the Love of my    
Grandparents, to Life itself.

  Composed with playful intent, It requires advanced and skilled performers. It is a brilliant piece with a huge effect on the audience. It induces a very positive mood.
The score is published at „sheetmusicplus“ https://www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/21320882.  I added some interpretation symbols, and the bowing is profusely suggested along the piece. 
Only as a personal suggestion of course. The bowing notation on the score differs a little bit from the one in the instrumental parts, you can choose among them or apply your own. The piece is appropriate to all kinds of technical practices. At this level and due to personal preferences, bowing and fingerings must obviously be adjusted to school tendencies, creativity or personal taste by the performers themselves. Very often different acoustics and performing conditions also demand adaptations on many technical aspects of the music performance. 
It is a good piece for serious concerts, it can be also used in all kinds of other social events.

P.S.- . 
My Grandma was born in the end of the19th.
And as the story is told, it was in Brasil. She spend her babyhood at the door of her poor parents in a little wooden box to be eventually adopted and taken away. 
Her little legs never recovered completely from that box, either from the absent True Love and loss of her Parents.
She was adopted by wealthy people, was brought to Europe and given an European birth certificate…with name and all - “Ema Maria Lizardo“ - „Born in Portugal“ - „Her Parents are not mentioned on the Birth Certificate“. 
Than she was educated in music, literature, arts and all sorts of high rank social activities…she became a music teacher.  
Singing made her happy and she was very talented.
In a very young age she had learned a vast repertoire from Brasilian songs just from listening and could remember all of them all Life long.
My Mother told me that she could simply enchant the audiences with her angelic voice and she was a dedicated music teacher.
On her teens she met my Grandfather an all round artist…violinist, conductor, composer, poet, painter, you name it! 
It was Love at first sight. 
True Love.

A long long time ago, long before most of our Parents were born Ema got married with my Grandpa and she became a new name -„Ema Maria Lizardo Da Silveira“.

Grandma Ema died a Widow in the year I was born. 
I can still hear echoes of her Soul singing in my Heart. 
True Love for Life is what this piece is all about.
Music can transcend the reels of Time.
It opens doors to new Dimensions,
Music saved the Soul of my Ancestors
It connects us all, it is Timeless.

In this PDF file , for each voice in the score there is an individual part ready to print.
Included in this file is also the full score for the choir with individual parts.
There is no text to be sung, so in the sense of a vocalizo „oh“ and „ah“ can be used „ad lieb“ by the singers.
For the bells there is an extra optional score that could be eventually used by a keyboard instrument. 
The percussion could be performed by 3 or 4 musicians. It consists of a set of cymbals „G, A and C“, a splash or crash, an open triangle, a snare drum, One or 2 Gongs and a bass drum. For each voice in the ensemble score there is an individual part ready to print and an optional standard one. The parts are very easy to perform.
The piece is can easily be adjusted to different situations.
It is perfect for school ensembles and mixed groups of beginner students and advanced ones.

A little story about this piece
In my early teens I dreamed in my sleep that I met a very nice gentleman, in a beautiful garden. 
At the time I did not now that the man in my dream was my „genetic“ Grandpa himself, I had never seen a picture from him, only many years later after this dream.
Now back to the Dream.
Grandpa toke me from the garden to a House full of sculptures and art work. 
There was also a room with 3 great pianos, sat to perform on 3 different stages. 
Family life size portraits where hanging on a corridor.
Another room was full of swords and ancient family weapons.
In the end of the dream a dangerous Entity approached the house, Grandpa disappears and I had to leave the place in a hurry without being noticed. 
I climbed up the house and went hiding on the celling. I could than see a middle aged, middle-Lower class lady coming in the House, she was very stiff, all dressed in black like a widow. It was a very weary feeling, I woke up to never forget this dream.
 
About 20 years later I was in that garden. It was really abandoned and I spend much of my time hanging there, I wrote a lot of music in this garden.

I knew about The owner of this garden, he was living not so far away from me. 
Curious I decided to visit him.
He leaved in the house that I dreamed of and he was actually my Father but I did not know that he was my Father and either did he knew about me being his son. He died shortly after we met. His name was Pedro Augusto Franco Dos Anjos Teixeira and my Grandpa was Artur Gaspar Dos Anjos Teixeira.

Celtiberian Landscape For Harp And Orquestra

„Improvisation On Tchaikovsky`s Cherubic Hymn“.
It is an original Harp improvisation to be accompanied by an adaptation for strings inspired in Tchaikovsky`s choir piece „Cherubic Hymn“.
Rather than being worked as an arrangement, the outcome of this experience resulted in a new composition that I fortunately share with Tchaikovsky. With the added melodies on the Harp and the stringed instrumental caracter of the orquestral adaptation, the piece gains a strong tone contrast, enhancing at the same time its deep spiritual beauty, thus bringing it to a wider range of public and performance choices. 
it is very easy to perform, yet it moves deeply both performer and public. 
The piece is appropriate for beginner students. It can be used in serious concerts and all kinds of cultural events. It is a very Spiritual piece, it induces a wonderful mood in Baptism or Christmas celebrations.
One can get married to it. 
The piece is also appropriate to honor someone in a funeral. 
Although this score was composed in full intent to be performed as written, the Harp part can be played by itself and the orquestral arrangement from the Hymn can also be performed without the Harp. 
This score was conceived so that without adaptations, the Harp the orchestra and the original Choir could perform at the same time. Or intercalated „Ad Lieb“, the Harp with the choir, or the orquestra with the choir. Instead of a full string orquestra one can also use just a string quartet and a doublebass.

A Little Historical Note.
„The Cherubic Hymn is part of the Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom written in the fourth century by the Byzantine saint, honored as such by both Eastern Orthodox and Roman Catholic churches.
 In the context of the liturgy, the hymn is sung during the most mystical and spiritual part of the service as a prelude to the transubstantiation of bread and wine into the real presence of Our Lord“.

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the inspiring Master and genial composer with whom I had the happy causality to write this improvisation or „collab“ was born in; 25 April/7 May 1840 – 25 October/6 November 1893, was a Russian composer of the late Romantic period, he created an outstanding number of unique musical masterpieces. Tchaikovsky was honored in 1884, by Emperor Alexander III, and awarded a lifetime pension.

Improvisation On Tchaikovsky`s Cherubic Hymn

Although not a beginners choice, it is a very flexible piece and very useful for all kinds of events. 
It is relatively easy to perform and once thoroughly learned and played „Live“ you will experience a great rewarding feed back of its magical power upon the public.
There are 3 versions on this file. One in F for the pedal or chromatic Harp, one in Eb for a diatonic harp and one in F for a little 3 octave gothic harp. 
Some interpretation symbols where used in the score as a performance suggestion. 
Most of the score is left to the interpretation of the artists involved, particularly the use of fingering.
Feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills.

The Princess Of Sintra For Harp

This piece is thou very simple and easy to perform.

It is appropriate for the harp and it sounds great on any kind of harp. 
When using a little lap harp, one can easily transpose the bass voice an octave higher.
It is a flexible piece, you can play it slower or a little faster and even the arpeggio in the end that becomes quite easy after some practice could be replaced by a simple glissando.
You should feel Free to apply in this piece the Art and technic that expresses entirely your individual skills, Your taste and Your Soul.

It is a piece that can be used in many different kinds of situations, from the serious concert hall to a funeral, in Easter or even Christmas celebrations and all other kinds of Spiritual events or even joyful social meetings.

„Now comes the Little Story“
The Volcano`s Lake was composed on a volcano called Pico that stands out about 2000 meters above see level right in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. From the bottom of the ocean to its pick it is higher than mount Everest.
I like to know that there are an enormous amount of different species of whales that live in this area and many others that go there strictly for romance.
I went there to perform with the harp but was at the same time deeply morning the death of my Dear Cat Mary Jane that tragically passed away the day before the flight. 
In this isle I was having at night strange dreams of epic battles and fights between flying Angels and Demons.
In one of these dreams „Time and Matter“ were a byproduct of „Music“ itself.  
The wind was blowing, the volcano was dancing and the water on the lake was whispering enchanting melodies. 
As soon as I woke up I wrote some notes before they vanished away, just a fragment of an idea of what I was listening in the dream. 
I named it „The Volcano`s Lake“, because the „Lake was comforting me with its  melodies, I realized that my tears were also becoming the lake itself and in this lake I was becoming one with Mary Jane and all the rest of the Universe.
