Debuted in her Group Therapy 450 set, London’s Amy Wiles collaborates with Matt Fax and Mirror Machines on ‘Remind Me Why’.

Amy Wiles started her DJ career at 16, and has played for us at Group Therapy 450, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, The Warehouse Project and at Anjunabeats club nights across London. Her debut single ‘Biding Time’ was released in June 2021 as part of the Anjunabeats Rising series, and she’s remixed Above & Beyond, Kyau & Albert, Farius and gardenstate. You can catch Amy at our upcoming Night Tales showcase on March 18, and at The Gorge in July.

French producer David Ciekanski (aka Matt Fax) has been releasing music since the age of 15. In 2013, he provided a timeless remix of Jaytech’s ‘Labour Of Love’ and landed his first Guest Mix on Group Therapy. Since then, David has gone from strength to strength on labels such as Enhanced, Colorize, AVA Recordings and This Never Happened, releasing two artist albums and contributing to Colorize’s ‘Colorscapes’ mix compilation series.

Mirror Machines are U.S. production duo Jeremy Dawson and Chad Petree. They caught the attention of Lane 8 in 2021, releasing the ‘Pray For Rain EP’ on his This Never Happened imprint and featuring in several of his seasonal mixtapes. Jeremy and Chad were previously members of indie electronic outfit Shiny Toy Guns – their album ‘We Are Pilots’ received a GRAMMY Award nomination in 2007 for Best Electronic / Dance Album.

“I was working on some original material during lockdown. I posted an idea to my Instagram when Matt Fax dropped into my DM’s. I knew the idea wasn’t quite finished and that it was lacking something, so I asked if he would be down to collab on it and that’s how it became a collaboration.

At the same time, I had been recently chatting to Jeremy and Chad from Mirror Machines. It was slightly surreal when I received the top line from them, as my dad originally got me into Shiny Toy Guns when I was a kid. It’s also a great moment for me working with Matt Fax, having previously worked with him for years as Marketing Manager at Enhanced Music. The spiritual successor to 2015's 'All These Wounds', ilan Bluestone and BT join forces once again on ‘Run’, featuring vocals from Caitlin Charters.

At the forefront of progressive and trance for almost a decade, London-based ilan Bluestone made his debut on Anjunabeats in 2012. Producing high-energy trance with heart and soul, his emotional, song-drive approach to dance music has earned him eleven genre chart #1’s on Beatport and a legion of fans around the world.

With support from Pete Tong (Radio 1), Annie Nightingale (BBC R1), Charlie Hedges (BBC R1), Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond and many more, he's fast becoming one of trance music’s most influential figures. BT is a producer and songwriter from the US. Bluestone and BT met Caitlin Charters on Clubhouse, the voice-based app that went viral during lockdown. It’s hard to guess this is Charters’ first release – her textured voice is perfectly suited to the soaring melodies of ‘Run’. The track got its first outing on Above & Beyond's Anjunabeats Volume 16 compilation, released in July 2022.

Above & Beyond’s first original collaboration single since 2010 (for those playing at home, that was ‘Anphonic’ with Kyau & Albert) sees the production powerhouse of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki link up with prolific San Franciscan, Spencer Brown.

‘Long Way From Home’ featuring the vocals of RBBTS (Anne Kalstrup & Hendrik Burkhard) is a gentle, melancholic wave of undulating melodies, underpinned by the quartet’s rounded, dancefloor-ready sound. Debuted at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy 300 celebrations in Hong Kong, the song considers the experience of loneliness that besets many touring artists. Aptly, the first sketch of the track was laid down by Paavo and Spencer in a Melbourne hotel room - a very, very long way from home.

Says Paavo, “Both Spencer and myself know all too well what it's like being a touring musician.
Filled with totally amazing, high moments, but also lonely moments in hotel rooms far away from home. We'd both been travelling for hours feeling somewhat lost and lonely and ended up spending the day together talking about it all. Later that night, we found ourselves making a song about it all in a makeshift hotel room studio”

Spencer Brown has just finished a world tour with Above & Beyond, playing direct support to crowds across North America, Australasia and Europe. A star on the rise, Spencer is already a mainstay on Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats imprint. The prolific 24 year old released his debut artist album, ‘Illusion Of Perfection’, on the label earlier this year.

Says Spencer, “ “Dream on little dreamer." A message that rung in my head after seeing Above & Beyond, as a fan, in 2014. After signing my music with Anjunabeats in 2016, our musical and personal relationship deepened. We’ve toured the world together. Now, we’ve penned this song - drawing deep from our hearts - about the crazy lives we lead.”

Elizabeth explains how the track draws heavily from her cultural roots, “This is a song of love and blessing for my mother, father and loved ones. In Akan culture we recognise the sacrifices that each individual makes when raising children of the next generation, passing down wisdom from old to new. Sending out blessings is something we do to show love and appreciation and to say thank you.”
