In the two years since his last original outing on the label, the unforgettable “Beautiful Life”, Martin Roth has developed his deep hypnotic sounds on labels like Poesie Musik and Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat. He returns to Anjunadeep with “Mel / Maya”, two dark, techno influenced gems showcasing Martin’s ear for spellbinding club music.

“Mel” is a surging monster of a track, driven by huge rumbling low end beneath subtle swirling melodies. Combining dark, techy elements with classic progressive textures, “Mel” is a fine example of the current underground sound in Martin’s hometown of Berlin.

A stand out on Anjunadeep 06, “Maya” is another moody piece of house music, primed for a 4AM dancefloor. Big thudding percussion masks a gentle melody that ebbs and flows into an epic breakdown, packed full of atmospheric rising pads.

On remix duties are two emerging talents Peter Pardeike and Whomi. Tackling “Mel” is Whomi, who has made waves recently with impressive remixes of Ultraista and Soul Button. He takes a minimal approach, building from murky beginnings into an incredible crescendo throughout the breakdown. A serious dancefloor weapon in the right hands!

Following a hugely supported release on Innervisions with Marcus Worgull, fellow German Peter Pardeike turns his hand to “Maya" in distinctive fashion. Stripping back to focus on bassline and piano, the track takes a leftfield turn into arpeggio territory. Another memorable moment on a highly anticipated comeback EP.

Following 2013’s superb ‘Excommunication EP’ Erkka returns with his most diverse solo release to date, the four track ‘Museme EP’. Title track ‘Museme’ is a nine-minute epic traversing through atmospheric beginnings into dark melodies and driving analogue percussion. 

‘Rocky’ channels an old-school electro flavour, combining punchy bass stabs and infectious rave stabs, whilst ‘Deep Purple’ is a unique cut of plucked strings and cascading melodies.

Rounding off the EP and typifying Erkka’s quirky sound is ‘Talk To The Hand’, an energetic groover filled with trademark wonky riffs and spacey sounds.

Universal Solution - Agra

Back in the groove after the Bank Holiday and our first fresh premiere of the week comes from MTA Records. The release is a debut EP and a track called 'Forever' from one of their latest signings, the Brighton based producer Braxton.

Braxton quickly caught the attention from BBC Radio 1 tastemakers Pete Tong, MistaJam, Danny Howard as well as international DJs from debut release. He’s generated heat online with his remixes for the likes of Kyla La Grange, Blonde, Chloe Black, Tourist and Grades which have amassed over half a million plays across Soundcloud and YouTube in less than a year.

Remixing Koelle's track ‘Falling upwards’ Featuring Margret on vocals. I loved the warm recording of the piano in the original so I began with overdubbing some piano of my own interpretations. I also feature the Cello and Violin at the breakdowns to embody some more ideas.🎶
Koelles Synth work was perfect on its own so I weaved in these sounds like silk towards the end without changing a thing.🎼🎧
Maybe this would suit a warm afternoon on the deck with a few drinks at sundown.🌄

Erkka, one half of Anjunadeep duo Komytea, launches his solo project on the label with an infectious two track EP, including "Air Conditioner" and the much anticipated "Excommunication". The EP is the first in an exciting new project that will see the Finnish producer explore a wide spectrum of electronic sounds. 

Bringing together robotic funk, nu disco grooves and melodic 80s-influenced textures, "Excommunication" is an emphatic opener. With a deep, brooding but uplifting bassline, hypnotic vocodered vocals and an infectious melody, Erkka's "Excommunication" is a slow burning dancefloor bomb that should appeal to a range of DJs.

"Air Conditioner" is an equally deep, melodic concoction, complete with crisp, skipping percussion and another beautiful flowing melody. Further showcasing Erkka's effortless flair for combining potent late night grooves with classy melody, "Air Conditioner" rounds off a brilliant debut for this project.
