In August 2021, Indian artist Anish Sood transitioned to his new moniker Anyasa and set out on a new journey for an electronic musician from the subcontinent. He released his debut EP ‘Gaya’ on global dance label Anjunadeep which gained praises by Mixmag, Rolling Stone India and Times of India as well as gaining DJ support from Eelke Kleijn, Adriatique and Maceo Plex. 

Anyasa is poised to take the next step in his journey with the release of his second EP, ‘Athena’, out March 30th. Named after the Greek goddess of wisdom and strength, the EP is as much a reflection of Anyasa’s strong deep house roots as it is of the female energy that finds its way into the EP with the voices of his collaborators. Featuring Tanmaya Bhatnagar, Barbie Rajput, Abhilasha Sinha and Chitralekha Sen, the four tracks on the EP are the perfect epilogue to ‘Gaya EP’, reinforcing Anyasa’s ability to take his listeners through an emotional journey. 

Anyasa’s consistency as a proficient Indian producer is clear from the balance he has attained between classical Indian sounds and modern electronica. His distinctive style found global acceptance early on with ‘Gaya EP’, and under the Anjunadeep banner, Athena is set to make a larger impact, evident from the inclusion of lead single ‘Birha’ in the label’s flagship compilation Anjunadeep 13. 

‘Athena EP’ will be accompanied by Anyasa’s highly acclaimed live show. The first tour featured sold-out shows across India and performances at the iconic Mixmag Lab in Goa as well as the Dubai Expo 2020. Taking a step further, the upcoming live tour will feature strong interactive visuals using live camera feeds to immerse the audience within the show.

Berlin-based producer and live act Nils Hoffmann releases the next single ‘Afterglow’ taken from his forthcoming album ‘A Radiant Sign’, out September 2 on Anjunadeep.

Pairing LA-based singer-songwriter Griff Clawson’s dreamy vocals with warm pads and hard-hitting drums, Nils showcases his ability to blend meticulously-crafted electronic elements with a catchy vocal hook. Having started to release music and tour the world at the tender age of 16, Nils demonstrates his wealth of experience in his latest offering.

“The atmosphere that is created from the combination of the instrumental and the vocal is really striking. The challenge for me was to give this song a drop that would contrast with the dreamy verses.”
‘A Radiant Sign’ marks the beginning of a new chapter for the 26-year-old up-and-comer. Finding himself going through a transitional stage in his life, Nils used the album to help him escape and give him hope in uncertain times.

“The album is about new beginnings, and represents the beautiful results that can come from fighting through difficult circumstances. I wanted to give people a collection of music that they can be absorbed by; giving them the hope and faith to keep going through the twists and turns of life. While writing the album, I realised that challenging situations do eventually come to an end, and while facing those challenges, it’s best to look ahead. That’s what ‘A Radiant Sign’ stands for.”

‘Afterglow’ follows on from album singles ‘Let Me Go’ and ‘9 Days’, and 2019 single ‘Breathing’, his smash-hit collaboration with Ben Böhmer and Malou. ‘Breathing’ has so far amassed over 30M streams to date, and gained support from BBC Radio 1, Sirius XM and Sunshine Live. This adds to an already-impressive list of tastemakers like Diplo, Bob Moses and Pete Tong who’ve championed his work on Poesie Musik, Ton Töpferei, Bitbird and Counter Records.

Nils is part of the next wave of emerging talent from London-based electronic label Anjunadeep, who have broken electronic music stars such as Lane 8, Yotto, Eli & Fur and Ben Böhmer.

Esteemed Goan dance producer Anish Sood unveils his third release on Anjunadeep under his Anyasa alias. Out June 20, the ‘Apollo EP’ follows his ‘Gaya’ and ‘Athena’ EPs, which have, between them, accumulated over 2.7 million streams, as well as coverage from outlets including Mixmag and Rolling Stone India.

Anyasa is an accomplished DJ and live act, as showcased in multiple set recordings online, including his performance for the launch of Mixmag’s Lab in Goa. He will also be touring internationally this summer, and following a trio of sets at Anjunadeep’s Explorations festival, he will be heading to North America, playing in cities including Toronto, Chicago and San Francisco, alongside a stop at Anjunadeep’s takeover of the Brooklyn Mirage on July 7.

Anyasa has, with his consistent, club-focused productions and energetic performances, earned support from tastemaking DJs including Maceo Plex, Joris Voorn and Marsh, and his new ‘Apollo EP’ is set to reach similar heights. Across the four tracks, Anyasa draws inspiration from the rich cultural tapestry of India, and skilfully marries traditional Indian instrumentation and vocalists with modern electronic dance sounds, making for a unique, yet entirely signature release from the talented producer.
