The last time we played Kings Hall at Brooklyn Mirage was our second gig ever as Leaving Laurel, in October of 2021. It feels like a really long time ago. Emotions & nerves were high.. everything felt very new to the two of us. We didn't quite know what DJing as Leaving Laurel together would sound like at the time but we were having fun figuring it out. 

Fast forward almost 2 years later, to this past Friday & it felt like our set in Brooklyn had become all of those experiences together compressed into one moment. We felt calm & proud, knowing Pierce was right there smiling.

He sat at the summit of the music industry in the dizzy heights of the 1980s, producing and mixing for acts like U2 and Peter Gabriel, and has the wealth to show for it: an old Buddhist temple in Toronto, a mansion in L.A. where he “just hangs out”, and a place in Jamaica which is “where I hang my hat”, a '72 Cadillac that “you can put about twelve people in,” and a collection of studio gear that many would kill for.
