Wassu will always hold a special mantle at the TOR imprint, as the man who inaugurated the label with his Andu EP. Since then, the New Yorker has turned heads over the last year with a string of enthralling releases on the likes of Anjunadeep, TRYBESof, and When We Dip XYZ. With each passing project, Wassu’s mastery of warm melodies and boastful basslines deepens. His latest offering, the Escape Alone EP, is some of his best work yet.

Wassu continues to propel vocal harmonies with Lumynesynth providing a soaring touch on the closer - Awaken. A signature groove-tinged bassline ebbs effortlessly through the arrangement, offering a punchy appeal to a dreamy number. Rotterdam-natives Joep Esseling and Bram Harmsen make up Esteble. The duo have carved their path within the electronic music world, with releases on international imprints including Diynamic Music, Stil Vor Talent and Connaisseur Recordings gaining them support from BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Max Cooper, Solomun and more. Esteble now return to Anjunadeep with their ‘Mind Heart Self EP’.

 First heard on the labels flagship compilation, Anjunadeep 11, ‘Mind Heart Self’ features thought-provoking words from Lazarusman, a Johannesburg-based poet who many will recognise from his earlier collaboration with Tim Engelhardt. ‘Moorea’ is filled with deep grooves and futuristic synths whilst polyrhythmic track ‘Lapacho’ closes the EP.

As we slowly creep out of social isolation, Isolate remain where they’ve always been: in their own unique lane, serving up majestic electronic music from their Istanbul HQ. And for this particular trip, the labels tenth and their first vinyl release, the Isolate bosses are driving: Murat Uncuoglu & Alican.

‘No End’ starts the march. Stately, uplifting and just the right amount of triumph. It’s loaded with spiralling hooks that make you reach further than your arm’s length, make you look further than your eyes reach, make you hope more than conventional reality usually allows. This is sound of post-lockdown dancefloors around the world.

‘Patchwork’ follows. A darker, prowling slab of pristine synth drama with a plucked bassline and all kinds of flourishing twirls and diversions, within seconds it ensures heads are down and bodies are locked into the groove. Don’t believe the title; this one’s seamless…. And so is the grand finale track ‘Big Wishes’.

Signing out with a powerfully positive piece; ‘Big Wishes’ takes all the weirdness and tension of the last four months, screws it up tightly into a strange trippy ball then throws it so high in the air it turns to dust in the atmosphere. A true set highlight that will have your crowd wondering what hit them.
