Michael Cassette -  Funeralia - Farewell To David

The mysterious 80s-obsessed electronic producer, Michal Cassette has been celebrated for adding a warm, modern production sheen to nostalgic electronic sounds. Championed by DJs like Laurent Garnier, Eric Prydz and James Zabiela and picking up reviews by trend-setting blogs and dance music bibles, Michael Cassette’s debut album ‘Temporarity’ has already been celebrated in DJmagazine for  “perfectly nailing an unashamedly eighties vibe with a flair and intelligence that few can muster, and without any hint of saccharine sentimentality”. 

The lead single from said album, ‘Ghost In The Machine’ is a perfect example of Cassette’s well-honed union of bright 80s-styled synths, immaculate colour loaded arrangement and tight electronic grooves. 

Adding a darker, more driving contrast, Komytea’s remix is a racier, techno-charged affair with gripping bass grooves and hypnotic techno ticks building to two breakdowns that add eerie, eccentric shades to the original’s neon melodies.

After a major success last year, Colorize is delighted to present Colorscapes Volume Two - with 50 tracks spread across three mixes from PRAANA, Dezza and Matt Fax. 

Colorscapes Volume Two concludes with the third mix from prog house champion Matt Fax. With the release of his album 'Progressions' earlier this year, Matt Fax unveils a host of unreleased material in a captivating Colorscapes mix that explores the progressive sounds he champions, including the new releases ‘Shuttle’, ‘Lyra’, ‘Atlas’ and ‘Run Away’. Other highlights include Estiva’s unreleased single 'Rush Hour', a collaboration with Sound Quelle ‘Sunburst’, and debut Colorize productions from the likes of Just Her, Trilucid, Avoure and Bandēs.

Volume Two opens with a gripping mix from PRAANA who cap off a standout year by condensing their sound into a riveting 21-track mix that is woven together by the words of American spiritualist Ram Dass, who's message of awareness and mindfulness flows fluently over PRAANA's impressive selection of Melodic House. Their own singles 'I Am' with American duo LEVV and recent single 'Sun Sparks' feature alongside unreleased original 'Samadhi', while also showcasing productions from the likes of Sound Quelle, LEVV, Tommy Baynen and Murtagh, with some making their label debuts, including Klur, Solanca, Che-Yung and Tygris.

It is our great joy to present Silk Music Showcase 07, the seventh installment of the series, once again mixed by Jacob Henry and Tom Fall. The compilation is inspired by our weekly radio show and podcast of the same name (https://silkmusicshowcase.com), which is co-hosted by Jacob and Tom, as well as Vintage & Morelli, Terry Da Libra, Jayeson Andel, A.M.R, and Sundriver. Carefully selected to represent the sound of our radio show (and, more generally, our label), the songs included in the compilation range from the more pensive and melancholic shades of progressive to the more club-oriented, peak-hour material we tend to play at the end of our radio show mixes and live sets. Many of the artists who appear on Silk Music Showcase 07 are beloved veterans of the SMS compilation series; there are also quite a few exceedingly gifted first-time contributors to this year's compilation.
