After giving you a taste of some of the tracks that Jaytech’s been mixing up on the new ‘Anjunadeep:03’ compilation, we thought it was only fair to have James Grant pick out a selection of tracks from his mix. 

We begin with an edit of the deep, soothing fathoms of Sasha’s Involver Mix of Spooky’s ‘Belong’. A timeless, spiritual progressive anchor track that demands (and rewards) repeated listens, it is tweaked to perfection in this new edit from Prankster aka Soundprank.

Boom Jinx & Andrew Bayer truly are an Anjuna ‘Dream Team’ and they did not disappoint with last year’s smash ‘By All Means’. The Solarity boys take hold of Øistein and Andrew’s progressive masterpiece and transport it into floatier realms on an uncharacteristically restrained rework that demonstrates their melodic touch and shows that they’ve added a few more weapons to their arsenal to go alongside those heavyweight basslines!

Next up we have the retro-tinged melodic delights of Da Funk’s slow burner ‘Weekend Rubdown’. A track that has been hovering around for a while, its languidly paced, richly layered number with a thick, grubby groove, sheeny 80s synth lines and a chilled vibe that befits the title – it gets a tidy 2011 respray by Jaytech & James Grant.

Wrapping up the EP is another future hit from Michael Cassette by the name of ‘Regatta’. With its delightful cascades of undulating synths and pulsing groove it’s more in the progressive style than hook-filled, chorus led tracks such as ‘Summer’ and ‘Kilimanjaro’ and will no doubt become a real favourite.

"James Grant's Anjunadeep 04 Sampler" collects four distinctive vibes from his mix on the "Anjunadeep 04" album - described by DJ Mag as "another dependably excellent instalment from the Anjunadeep stable". 

Andrew Bayer & James Grant join forces for a fresh house reworking of Above & Beyond's uplifting anthem "Prelude" - recently used on the ITV adverts for the African Cup Of Nations. Taking the track in a different direction, the duo's rework oozes deep vibes with French house sweeps, nu disco grooves and chopped up R&B vocals merging with the original's uplifting key - adding some classic breakbeat funk in the breakdown.

A stand out track from "Anjunabeats Volume 9", Parker & Hanson's "Afterthought" is then given the remix treatment by Anjunadeep star Colin Fisher aka Soundprank. Bringing his unique mellow vibe to the original, his interpretation retains the original's charismatic piano magic.

Deep house legend Vincenzo then follows with his melodic groover "Get To Know You". A laidback deep house shuffler with cosmic textures and hypnotic vocal samples, "Get To Know You" is an essential for fans of Anjunadeep's deeper side. 

The package is completed with a welcome return of the enigmatic Stephen J. Kroos. Dark, brooding but deeply uplifting, "Phobos" adds a progressive twist to the classic techno vibes; with a haunting chord progression producing a truly atmospheric track.

Since its inception in 2016, Alan Fitzpatrick has clearly started something with his imprint We Are The Brave – the selection of artists who have released on the label in the last 2 years shows his dedication to giving a home to the best underground music around for his loyal and dedicated fans. Club anthems come to mind, with tracks like Alan’s ‘We Do What We Want’, Gary Becks ‘Just One More’ and the recent smash hit ‘Poison’ from Croydon’s finest - Skream. 

Portsmouth local and label mainstay Reset Robot has released 2 EP’s on the label back in 2018, and this June he brings us his second highly anticipated LP of his career - ‘Spiral Of Silence’. The release is a landmark one for the label, being the first album for We Are The Brave. 

“With we are the brave approaching its third year of existence. It was inevitable that we would soon be approaching album territory. Personally, I can’t think of anyone better to kick off this milestone event than Reset Robot” – says Alan 

As with his first album, 2014s ‘Let Your Soul Outside’ on Truesoul, Reset Robot has allowed himself the creative freedom to paint outside of the rigid lines of club music, meaning alongside the dance floor bombs such as ‘Ramp’, ‘Meadow’, ‘Humankind’, and ‘Spiral of Silence’ there are delicate downtempo gems such as ‘Denial’, the sinister movie soundtrack of ‘Ana Strings’ and the epicness of the Nils Frahm vs M83 analogue love match ‘Freq’. 

 “The LP links up with my new Live Set very nicely. The tracks can be broken down easily and incorporated into my set because a lot of the drums and synths are from the Machinedrum and Sub 37. Patterns and patches have been saved along the way, so I can jump straight into my songs in a live environment” adds Dave when speaking about his tour after the LP.



Indeed, there is more than one reference to Reset Robots’ roots with the inclusion of a few old skool breaks tracks; ‘Orly’ which could have easily been lifted from Moving Shadows back catalogue. “His talents in the studio are far superior than most electronic music producers out there” says Alan.

‘Are You Ready’ features a nod to the vocal treatment of mysterious post dubstepper, Burial, and closing track, ‘Believer’ drenched in Detroit Electro folk lore with a UK twist.

“This album really showcases his talent and I think it provides a great blend between club bangers and headphone listening alike. We Are The Brave are extremely proud to present this body of work to the world” – adds Alan.

Firmly established as a bedrock of the progressive and melodic techno sound, Anjunadeep has scaled new heights in the past 12 months with support coming from acts as disparate as UK techno baron Dave Clarke, Laurent Garnier, Eric Prydz, Groove Armada’s Andy Cato and stadium-filler Deadmau5 – the latter commenting on Michael Cassette’s Anjunadeep anthem ‘Ghost In The Machine’: “I haven’t felt this good listening to a piece of music since Eric Prydz’s ‘Melo’ -10/10”. 

Showcasing the full spectrum of the label’s diverse sounds, Anjunadeep 03 is the latest annual label collection and features 29 largely unreleased tracks that range from deep, dark and hypnotic techno sounds to upbeat, uplifting electronic house grooves.

Beginning on the lush techno of Stephen J Kroos’ ‘Micrsh’ and the beautifully brooding deep house chasms of Martin Roth’s ‘Deep Style’, Anjunadeep A&R James Grant’s CD1 mix continues to build through melodic techno and progressive textures with tracks and remixes from Underworld, Spooky, Michael Cassette, Andrew Bayer and promising newcomer, Soundprank.

On the second disc, Anjunadeep mainstay Jaytech shows off a slightly more upbeat and uplifting electronic house sound that touches on nu disco, electro and more classic house grooves and includes Jaytech’s own forthcoming anthem ‘Djembe’, as well as deep audio offerings from Solarity, Dinka, PROFF, Interplay and Maor Levi. 

To celebrate the release of this flagship release, Anjunadeep is holding a brace of transatlantic launch parties. The first will take place at the world-famous Ministry of Sound on Friday 4th February, where Jaytech and James Grant will be perform a 4 hour back2back set for The Gallery.
