I dedicate this song to everyone who has ever asked themselves what it means to grow old in today's world and to be dependent on the help of others. 

This story is based on my own experiences in a nursing home in Wetzlar, where I worked as a nursing assistant. I was forbidden from spending time with the people there after work... I was fired because I believed that these people deserved more than 10 minutes of my time...

It is also a cry for help regarding the current situation in nursing homes and retirement communities, with a plea to give people more time and attention. These people deserve our attention, our love, our appreciation, and our respect for the achievements they have made in their lives.

All you caregivers out there who suffer from the situation where people are largely just numbers who are given very little time... All of you who know that this is not right. Please do something every day to give one of the people in your care a reason to smile at you.

Just one. That's all it takes. Every day. Then you have already changed a lot! Not only for you - but especially for them! 💖
