It all started with an unplanned trip to Colombia where my uncle Elkin called me and said: "Sobrino" I know you like the music from my days and I have some old vinyl for you to have a look and cherry pick what you like. As you can imagine I was there in a blink of an eye!

To my surprise, my uncle and his father collected vinyl all of their lives and the material was pure gold, the only flip side of this story was that I could not carry enough wax with me back to Australia as it will cost a fortune, so I decided to judge by the cover and carry some back home with me and leave the rest in my parents house in Medellin.

As soon as I landed in Australia I hit my studio and spent a good couple of days listening to the albums. Xavier Cugat was unknown to me (at least the name as I have heard his sound elsewhere) but his unique, progressive and polished sound was awesome. Unfortunately the vinyl was in no good shape to make a decent remix but as we say in Colombia "cuando no hay solomo de todo como" I decided to rip it anyway and give it a crack.

So here it is to the great Xavier Cugat and his Orchestra of course!
