Caoling Pass is a historic Qing Dynasty trail, which leads travelers from the Yilan Coast up into the hills of Taoyuan Valley. This percussive and bass heavy mix is designed to keep hikers' feet moving as they push up into the mountains, the tall Silvergrass stalks swaying in the wind. 

草嶺古道是一條歷史悠久的清代步道，帶領旅客從宜蘭海岸進入桃源谷的山丘。 打擊節奏和低音的組合宛如此地風中搖曳的高大芒草，呼應徒步旅行者雙腳的步伐。

BaloneyBillionaire 曾旅居日本東京多年，因為疫情無法再返回走訪，回憶起過去前往神奈川西南海岸-真鶴岬的短途旅行。 作為啟發，在台北隔離的同時，為疫情時代打造了一種海邊歡愉的懷舊光景。
真鶴岬四周陡峭的懸崖，被篝火的光芒照亮，爵士般的節拍讓日落後的夜晚充滿生機，直到太陽再次在東方地平線上升起。 

The third entry in the ANKR Field Mix Series features BaloneyBillionaire reminising past excursions to Cape Manazuru, on southwest coast of Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture. Unable to visit Japan for the past year+ and currently stuck in quarantine in Taipei, the former Tokyo resident put together a nostalgic mix for the seaside raves of the pre-covid era. Surrounded by steep cliffs, lit by glow of the bonfire, jazzy breakbeats keeping the night alive until the sun finally peaks over the eastern horizon.

星羅棋布 、包羅萬象，漢字「羅」有著陳列、囊括的意思，這是一張來自東邊的合輯，來自世界地圖的東方，也來自台灣的東岸。《東羅》再現了某種能量交集的狀態，那是被珍視的、在他方某一刻被經驗的獨特真實。

合輯收錄的歌曲，來自長達一年的 Live Session 創作計畫，以詮釋台灣的自然地景為主題，由每一首歌的創作者，進入各個自然秘境中採集聲音、蒐羅素材與靈感創作而成，這是我們回到自然中，所能從自然帶走的恩賜。》

Dōng (東) - east
Lóu (羅) - to exhibit, to display, all-inclusive

In Chinese analogies “xīng luó qí bù” (scattered things like stars in the sky) and “bāo luó wàn xiàng” (all-embracing), the character “Luo” means “to exhibit” and “all-inclusiveness”. This compilation is about the eastern world, and the east coast of Taiwan, so we called it “Dong Luo.” 

The songs included in this compilation are from the year-long ANKR Live Sessions creative project, with the theme of musically interpreting the natural landscapes of Taiwan. Through the process of collecting sound materials and inspiration, each artist attempted to capture these locations’ special attributes. In this way, Dongluo reproduces an intersection of energies, creating a unique reality which can be cherished and experienced elsewhere. This is the gift we can receive from nature when we take the time to delve into it.

Mix 04 - 羅瓦涅米 Rovaniemi, Finland

This mix is a special performance by ANKR’s youngest and most energetic member, Max Huang. Typically a hot-handed, fast-paced selector, Max has cooled down his style for this mix as he shares music inspired by his northern explorations to the ice fields of Rovaniemi, Finland. The mix starts on top of the ice, surrounded by panoramic views of snow capped mountains and the colored northern sky. Soon cracks start to form below our feet and the ice gives way to the frozen depths below.

After a long, grueling summer of heat, Lemonfacer has put together four tracks of hot and humid, sticky breakbeat inspired by the dense, overgrown, bug-infested river swim spots throughout Taiwan’s mountains. Between heavy electro basslines and echoing synths, the sounds of buzzing crickets and snapped twigs meld seamlessly with analog percussion and chopped drum breaks. A perfect selection for midday dips in the stream or midnight jives in the jungle.

Mix 05 加羅泡泡  Bubbles in Lake Garo, Yilan

位在南湖大山和太平山間的中央山脈稜線上的加羅湖。海拔1100~2260公尺。箭竹、檜木、鐵杉交錯的高山草原包圍著豐富的水分，常有高機率產生迷濛霧氣。

她說，以加羅湖不停前行與爬升的旅程作為此混音的背景，
是2022年的歷程總結與一個階段性的停泊，而她持續能量滿溢的踏上全新的探索。

Lake Jialuo is located on the ridgeline of the central mountain range between Nanhu Mountain and Taiping Mountain. The altitude is 1,100~2,260 meters.
The alpine grasslands interlaced with arrow bamboo, cypress, and hemlock are surrounded by rich water, and there is often a high probability of misty fog.

She said that Lake Garo's non-stop journey and climbing served as the background for this remix, a summary of the journey in 2022 and berthing, and she will continue to embark on a new exploration full of energy.

She has been a resident VJ at nightclubs since 2017, collaborating with numerous music festivals and labels to produce visuals and videos, specializing in creating a psychedelic atmosphere using animation and visual generation techniques. She actively produces visuals for party events and participates in interdisciplinary experimental exhibitions.

Her journey as a DJ began in 2023 as she sought to find her sound in electronic music. Currently based in London, she favours fragmented beats, experimental sounds, and techno scenes with a rave vibe. She often blends various electronic elements, maintaining an experimental spirit as she explores the uncharted territories of auditory sensations.

For the first mix in this series we decided to start somewhere very close to home, Qingtan River in Xindian. Like many rivers surrounding Taipei, it feeds into the Tamsui river which in turn spills back into the Pacific Ocean. We tried to select music which captures the spirit of the river as it meanders its way through the surrounding hills.

本系列的第一個混音，我們決定從接近家鄉的新店青潭溪開始。 就像台北周圍的許多河流一樣，它流入淡水河，然後又流回太平洋，回歸海洋之母。 我們試圖在蜿蜒曲折的河流穿過周圍群山時捕捉流動的精隨。
