This flute was made from a branch of a centuries old White Pine at the entrance to my property by Flute Maker Stephen Rensink. I connect with this Grandfather Pine often and receive loving messages. The sound of its flute is gentle and soothing to me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I was inspired in meditation to play the following mantras: 
"It's ok to be this way." 
"I choose to feel good about myself."

The war in Ukraine is still going on, beyond belief. Paula Rosenbaum added an exquisite violin accompaniment to my initial improvisation. Hopefully change is on the way, we can only hope and pray.

This flute is a Suling from Bali and its sound is soothing and peaceful to my ears, reminding me of my travels there and the exquisite music I heard in that part of the world.

Gentle Peace

Stephen Rensink created 2 flutes for me from a branch of this majestic Yellow Birch which graces my fairy woods. This improvised tune is accompanied by the Monochord played by Julie Harris.

This improvised piece was created with Paula Rosenbaum on violin and Alan Berman on electric guitar and electric slide guitar.

Spaciousness

I created this improvised piece, as a way to soothe myself, feeling the angst that is around in the world these days and wanting some relief. I would like to share the hope and peace it brought me. I hope you find it soothing too.

Healing Song

This improvised piece is with Native American Style Flute and Voice, accompanied by Aaron Gannon on Monochord. I pay hommage to all my ancestors, those who came before me and gifted me with the life I am blessed to have. With much gratitude, I play for them.

This piece of music was begun by Yali Batt who lives in Israel. She recorded the foundation voice and piano tracks; the other tracks were added by members of Music for People —Alina Plourde, Heather Jacobs, Alan Berman, and myself, Anna Brzeski.

She writes: “This music is here for every person that feels stressed or worried and needs a moment of peace for himself.”

Wind in the Trees

An improvised piece with Daniel Haché on Didgeridoo and myself playing 2 Spruce Branch Flutes made by Stephen Rensink in the Native American Style. We recorded in May just when all the green colours were exploding with their different hues, an inspiring time.

Explosion of Green

Arvo Pärt wrote Für Alina in 1976 in a compositional style he called Tintinnabuli (from the Latin “a bell”). There is no time signature and the only reference to tempo is Ruhig, erhaben, in sich hineinhorchend  (peacefully, in an elevated and introspective manner). In this version, I play only the melody without any variations but followed by an improvisation.

In the Winter's Dark

I am thrilled and honored to be part of this wonderful group of musicians, daringly sharing their music with the world. 

I’ve played the piano since I was 7 years old and one of the happiest moments of my life was when a big black upright came into our family home on a Christmas eve many years ago.

Since then, I’ve been a classical pianist, performer, teacher, accompanist, and chorister. 

An accident and subsequent health issues caused a change in lifestyle as well as a deep spiritual search which brought me closer to my musical roots and so, I began improvising and composing. Now, I combine past experience with a newfound wisdom (hopefully) and an intuitive sense of harmony and sound, to create rich evocative music.

“In the Moment” is a collection of acoustic piano improvisations in a contemporary classical style and “The Kingdom of Enki” is an electronic musical fantasy in a fanciful soundscape which has been described as exciting, joyful, scary, and light.
