This is a collection of the sounds found on the soundwalk 'Along These Lines' Presented to the public through the application Echoes.xyz or through QR code scanning, to provide accessibility of listening. This project was funded by the Heritage Lottery, and was presented to the public as part of Dreamy Place digital festival over the weekend of 20th-21st October 2023. 
Along These Lines is a much needed immersive locative listening experience, providing information on laundry heritage, laundry ecology and the local landscape, the working classes, and women's work.

Everyday Washing

Take an immersive audio heritage walk around Brunswick Square, Hove, as historian Nick Tyson narrates points of interest, complimented by Anna’s own music compositions, sound effects and dialogue. Listeners would start on the red dot and create their own audio guide narrative. This is a PhD final prototype testing new technology not yet experienced in England, more details on the experience can be found at 'annacedmonds.com/recollections'. This is a dawn and dusk soundwalk with a combination of binaural and 3D recorded sounds, containing music, poetry, dialogue and sound effects, presented at Heritage Open Days in September 2021. It was the first large-scale public soundwalk Anna organised as part of her PhD research. The music was written and arranged through a selection of inerwined piano motifs, appearing and disappearing throughout the walk. A composition by resident blue plaque composer Roger Quilter titled 'Come Away Death' was also influential to select musical works within it.
Dawn walkers - begin at The Regency Town House, go left once you reach the square and work your way round clockwise, taking pauses where you like (listen back to front of album - Dawn Start)
Dusk walkers - begin at The Regency Town House, go right once you have entered the square, and work through the walk anticlockwise, taking pauses where you like (listen front to back of album - Dusk Start).
