Following on from the hotly received single 'Heaven Help Me' in May, Anna Gram prepares her full debut EP for Hammer's Remmah imprint. 'Celestial Objects' is a four-track collection of expansive electronica that takes a vibrantly modern approach to the timeless era of Orbital, Future Sound of London and Global Communication, without ever falling into mere nostalgia or cliche.

With an assured touch that speaks to the lifelong passion she has for electronic music history, Anna Gram blends the nuanced rolling breakbeats, melodic synths and subtle textures of those aforementioned greats with her own distinct style. That signature take has been long forged on the dancefloors of Glasgow where she has been an integral part of the city’s LGBTQIA scene, most notably as a resident of the ‘Shoot Your Shot’ party series, and in partnership with 'Heaven Help Me' vocalist Bonzai Bonner, as DJ duo LEZZER QUEST.

Anna Gram - Cut Through The Noise [COR110]

With ‘Cut Through The Noise', we take a break from our singles series to welcome @anna-gram’s highly exciting third EP !

Fascinated and passionate about music from a young age, growing up in the UK in the 80s got her in touch with a wide range of sounds going from italo, early trance, breakbeat to synth-pop, hardcore and techno.

Now based in Glasgow and with a DJ career spanning over two decades, Anna Gram recently got into production with a debut EP on Hammer’s imprint ‘Remmah’ in 2021 and the follow up on Permanent Vacation last year.

She’s now back in full force and through these 3 tracks we can feel her dedication to craft a definitely modern sound, drawing strength from her days spent daydreaming about proper raves and feeding on 90s music.

It’s easy to get lost into the cosmic feeling, swirling melodies and hypnotizing vocal line running through the title track ‘Cut Through The Noise’, followed by the most euphoric cut ’Mind Control’, a significant contender for new neo-italo anthem. Wrapping up the trip and bringing in an electrifying energy is the ecstatic and trippy ‘Spirograph’ where electronica meets progressive trance.

Fresh of some hot collabs with Adam Port on Defected and Moderna on his own imprint Duro, our good friend @theusmago lands back on Correspondant with a full EP. 

These early 2000’s house-inspired tracks are full of groove and perfectly cut for the dancefloor. The infectious percussive rhythms and xx’s vocals will definitely put you in a warm and sultry trance.

On remix duties, an explosive duo ! Our dear @anna-gram is coming in hot by keeping ‘Eclipse’ infectious energy and bringing some of her own magical proggy-trance sound to the mix.

Public Possession’s wizard @djedenburns, purveyor of what he calls the ‘Big Beat Manifesto’, follows on the percussive side of ’X Control’ with a more stripped-down and deliciously trippy version.

The 3rd release on Ecliptic Sound by Sonic Juncture. A 6 track EP featuring remixes from Tom Jarmey, Anna Gram & Debba.

The UK based duo Sonic Juncture, consisting of Josh Twigge-Molecey & George Protheroe, have released on labels such as Chequered Wax, Fresh Take Records, Andras Record, NOIDEA, Dealt With Records & Remmah.

They embark on a new endeavour in 2024 as the beginning of the year will bring the birth of 'Ecliptic Sound' their own record label. Featuring a variety of both self releases and the works of other artists.

Premiere: Sonic Juncture - Why Axis (Anna Gram Remix) [Ecliptic Sound]

The idea for this mix popped into my head the very first time I heard 'Move' by John Daly. I imagined myself flying through space on a cosmic adventure.....I have an over-active imagination. The idea stayed just that for a long time, but whenever I heard a song that sent me stratospheric, I stored the data in my memory pod for later use.
I think this is the longest I've ever spent compiling a mix, and it's taken on many different incarnations (the first time I recorded it, the mix sounded too spacey!?) I ended up with a playlist of nearly 5 hours worth of tracks that I had to cull.  I could have just recorded a really long mix, but that seemed a bit excessive! 

Here is the final result though, so buckle up space cadets, and enjoy the ride!

It's that time of year again, when you can bear the short, cold days and darkness no longer. When all you can think about is the warmth and heat of summer (unless you live in Glasgow!).

I am a solar powered sun bunny. Throughout winter I tend to listen to more floaty, 'sunshine' music than at any other point in the year.
