A love letter to the dancefloor and to the raves that never were. Belfast born and Manchester based up-and-coming selector https://soundcloud.com/kh0lle has pulled together a storming mix blending beautifully both emotional and heavy hitting dancefloor numbers. 

“I first really started to understand what it meant to DJ when playing through battered KRK’s to a group of people for the first time who would later-become some of my closest friends.

Possibly playing the best set of my life in my mate’s kitchen on Halloween (so some have said). Even in the most mundane of environments music can have a strangely transformative and spiritual effect which can be hard to believe until it is felt.

A long overdue healing process took place after lockdown was finally lifted ,my eyes were opened to the vibrant queer music scene in Manchester and the many amazing spaces the city has were one can lose themselves in for a couple of hours. This return was what a lot of us had been craving the entire time having only made do with what we had until then. Though just as things began looking up life remains unpredictable and this year a friend of ours tragically passed away before we could share those moments with them again.

This mix is a bittersweet love letter to raving, a lot of these tracks are some of my all time favourites and have many memories attached them. The meaning that becomes attached to certain tracks is a very personal thing, even though it can seem silly it’s still real and one of the most powerful aspects of DJing. How at the right moment, when the right tune is played, it can remain etched into your mind long after it has passed. This is my attempt at a tribute to a rave that never was nor ever will be.
