Welcome to the new BFDM and the abyss of sensualities it provides. The track which offers the reading line of the opus is that of Johannes Bugeleisen, musician who has scoured the Berlin nights for more than 10 years, remaining at all times and circumstances endowed with a big heart and an immense class. A hymn to languorous afterhours, which is completed by a bathmix of the same song, proposed by another important figure of the Neukölln scene: Leo Zylberberg. The latter offers us a version like a scuba dive where the soap slips out of the hands into the bathtub, always during those blue hours where nocturnal and diurnal are not yet clearly defined."

MBE009 CHRISTOS CHONDROPOULOS - CHANTS & SONGS

Recalling the first issue of Trance Mediterranea, MBE series is presenting “Chants & Songs” an outstanding long recording on greek folk music selected and recorded by Christos Chondropoulos.

Christos Chondropoulos is a percussionist and an electronic music producer from Athens, for the MBE009 he recorded a 60mins mixtape with a focus on side A on greek folk chants from Epirus (his homeland) and Northern Greece, while on side B he moves on a more rhythmic side of folk music from the same geographic area.
Polyphonic chants, trancy bagpipes, cadence tambourines evoking practically all aspects of life, childhood, marriage, mourning for the dead, pastoral life or historical events.

A mesmerizing work of excavation on the Mediterranean Sea popular culture.

KMITHRETRRRNCTRNDESTTEMP on y comprend rien à ce nom à couper au schlass. Toujours est-il qu’après avoir acheté quelques bières en quantité moyennement modérée, deux pizzas surgelées et des fraises tagada Camille, Peran et Paul se sont retrouvés un mardi soir au soundsystem de la course. Suite à l’établissement de leur campement, nos trois compères de Carpaccio cathédrale commencèrent à jouer autour du four, quelques heures de disques chinés, des enregistrements téléphoniques et quelques vidéos du web. Chemin faisant, ils furent rejoints par un mystérieux personnage à la moustache affûtée et la critique acérée qui permis à la pluie de Meteor de conserver son intensité. Le résultat de cette frasque reposera ici en attendant leurs prochaines aventures. To be continued...

After 5 years of 'Fortnightly Freebies' columns collating our favourite free downloads, we decided to do things a bit differently for the 100th chapter. Introducing 'Big Material', a 19-track 'name your price' compilation that will donate 100% of profits made to Stonewall Housing, a London-based charity supporting some of the most marginalised and vulnerable in our society.

At a time when unfair austerity is increasing inequality and leaving so many behind, we hope to support a community that has given so much to the 'scene' and music we love. Digi-dub abstractions and drifting ambient to kaleidoscopic breaks and newly-coined genre, 'subtle donk', it's a pretty accurate microcosm of the If-Only curation as a whole.
