So we decided to incorporate the four-note lamento bass and the rhythmic dance structure of the original, early Baroque chaconne into this version of the English folk song for our programme "Chacona, Lamento, Walking Blues"....! (Thanks also for the inspiration from Nancy Kerr and James Fagan!) With Mary Carewe (soprano), Yuki Kasai (violin), Anna Carewe (cello), Michele Pasotti (theorbo), Petteri Pitko (harpsichord) and some percussion by Oli Bott - a cool combination of instruments. (Note the clog dancing going on in the background.....)
