This song is so special to me and because it was recorded a while back it almost got left off the album!  I am SOOOO glad this did not end up happening!  It was originally written as a comforting gift to a mate from my hometown of Townsville who was going through a rough time.  I was inspired by his fighting spirit, even in those dark days and having been through similar times myself the writing became a massive cathartic & personal exercise.

It’s about not waiting around for anyones approval especially those types of people who will never accept responsibility for any of their own crap and instead choose to go through life never having learnt a thing about themselves.

This song was penned by by husband, Tim Burcham right after our first trip to South East Asia.  For me personally, I felt like a kid again in a big exciting world!  So many new sounds, smells, tastes and ways of life!  It also made me realise you can find family and connection in any part of the world, even if those worlds are completely different.

It's a rallying cry to find your voice, break the pattern of staying quiet, and claim your power. With a hint of alt-country, folk, pop and rockin’ a 1960’s Hammond organ, this song captures the moment you say, “I see you! No more!” A raw and heartfelt anthem for standing strong and reclaiming your courage.

This track is a mantra! Just keep climbing, through darkest night into the light.  

The song was inspired by moments of darkness and the determination to push through those moments to the light.  It also illustrates that we are not alone in the fight.  There are people who will pick us up and carry us through. Enjoy!

CLIMB

Little Bluebird is the second single to be released from Anna Weatherup's upcoming record 'Crossing the Sea'. 
The song was originally written in my home studio one morning while sitting with my guitar and pondering my life as a musician and how I sometimes feel like an outsider and not part of the ‘in’ crowd.  I pondered the state of our music industry and the lengths that individuals go to stay relevant and be noticed.  Regardless of all of those observations & feelings I continued to sit in the corner of my local pub and sing like a bird through the noise and hoped to pull in those that had the ears to hear.  And to lift my head up and be proud of the artist I am.
