Droid BIshop & Anna Yvette - Lonely

M83 is a massive inspiration for me, and I've always loved the poem in "Graveyard Girl" and when it came time to make the bridge for "Mood Ring" I wanted to capture that same feeling. A lot of my music is inspired by the 80s, and for this one I wanted to create a song that maybe John Hughes would use if he made a movie about a sleepy seaside town that comes alive in the summer with tourists, boardwalk games, the kind where you can win a  mood ring and ride the ferris wheel while looking at the ocean as the sun sets while reluctantly realizing you're falling in love.

Anna Yvette - Tears In The Rain

I've always tried to push myself outside the typical topics that perform well according to the Industry (love songs, break up songs, etc.) and I wanted to touch upon the topic of Cognitive Dissonance. It's difficult to see you're in an unhealthy situation when you've been gas lit the entire time. Even though everyone else can see it for what it is, you have to realize it for yourself to make necessary changes. I wanted the production for the track to convey a sense of driving urgency to match the lyrics. To me it feels like after a long journey in the dark, you finally see a light at the end of the tunnel and now you have to run towards it as fast as you can before everything collapses around you trapping you forever in the rubble.  The structure of this song is a bit different but I also wanted to experiment by adding a bit of electro to my signature synthwave and retrowave vibes. And of course, who doesn't want TWO guitar solos :)

I hope you enjoy this song and it brings you inspiration to leave toxic situations that no longer serve you!
