Anne, I love how the sounds you recorded help add a sense of natural reverb and atmosphere to the track. It's almost like parts of that other life creep into the mix. oshio Kiyosaki (1922-1999) was a Japanese haiku poet and scholar of Japanese literature. He published a biography of Kyoshi Takahama in 1966 and co-authored Kyoshi Monogatari, another study on the renowned haiku poet, in 1979.

The Milky Way (amanogawa, or "Heavenly River" in Japanese) is a kigo for Autumn, mainly because that's when the galaxy is most visible in Japan.

The clock of the four winds is a tall-case grandfather style clock originally assembled in 1710 by an Italian astronomer and mathematician named Ricco Foscari, a direct patrilineal descendant of famed explorer, vintner and occultist, Cosimo Foscari. The magical properties of the clock were such that when its hands were moved and positioned in certain configurations, it would trigger remote viewing events which would be projected onto the glass panel cover. The clock was also rumored to serve as a sort of “beacon” used for summoning an other-dimensional being named “Desdinova” who acted as a sort of intermediary between detached yet interconnected causal timelines.

Embarkation Point

A song about times when I feel outside of myself. It can be unsettling or weird, but also sometimes freeing. Other than vocals, kick, and piano, all instruments in this song were made from sounds recorded in a span of 10 minutes around my apartment.
