The lives and loves of Christabel, Sylvia and Adela Pankhurst, the three daughters of Emmeline Pankhurst, the figurehead of Britain’s radical Suffragette movement.
The Pankhursts were a family divided, a family often at war. Christabel dedicated her life to the cause and let nothing, not even the pursuit of love and happiness, stand in the way of women’s emancipation. By 1918 when the battle for women’s suffrage had finally been won, Sylvia was estranged from the Suffragettes and from her own mother and Christabel, and Adela, the youngest, had been banished by Christabel to Australia. The musical tells the stories of these three remarkable sisters set against the First World War and other great events of the time. The story culminates with the victory of the Suffragettes and the disintegration of the Pankhurst family.

Dangerous Daughters

The musical tells the story of Nellie Bly, America’s first female journalist. In a profession dominated by men, in the late 19th century, Nellie was determined not only to join the profession but to become one of its brightest lights.

To get herself noticed, Nellie undertook a series of daring and outrageous stunts, including committing herself to New York’s infamous insane asylum on Blackwell’s Island. The subsequent articles and book she wrote about her experiences forced the authorities to radically reform the asylum system.

In 1889 Nellie undertook her most famous and seemingly impossible stunt – a solo journey around the world to try to beat the 80 days taken in Jules Verne’s famous novel. After many exotic adventures, she returned triumphant to New York in just 72 days.

By turns comic and tragic this is the story of a woman who opened a door previously closed to all women: the story of a brave pioneer who sacrificed love and happiness to achieve her ambition.

There's a dark shadow haunting 'The Sunshine Gang' that can only be torn apart when the first flying bombs start to fall from the sky and a stranger stumbles into rehearsal room to change their destiny forever.

Based on the legendary Dartmoor story around Kitty's Grave. Folklore has it that Kitty Jay was a young unmarried housemaid who was betrayed by her lover after finding out that she had fallen pregnant after a vicious rape. In desperation she hanged herself in the outbuilding of a nearby farm and the body was disposed of in the usual barbarous manner of that time. To this day her grave always has yellow flowers mysteriously placed on it.
This folk musical with a book by Nick Stimson and music and lyrics by Annemarie Lewis Thomas adds a contemporary timeline to the legend, after all, love is ageless.
