This song is the first demo I made in Garageband when I started working in a DAW environment.

[CONCEPT]
As part of human nature, fears about an unpredictable future or doubts about past decisions constantly arise in our minds. These emotions can be obstacles when we’re facing challenges in our lives. However, I believe the strength we need to overcome these feelings is already within us: the power of believing in our potential to achieve something great. We don’t need to rely on external sources but simply access our internal driving force. Whenever you find yourself stuck in the mud of fear, I hope this song will serve as a reminder to get back on track.

Flickering Hopes In The Abyss

The three of us are now close to completing our collaborative album of (re)mixes of 2024. We present the last-but-one track in it, "Muddy Water". As always, Patrick or DjArtw2001 (@djartw2007) took the initiative and (re)mixed in MAGIX on 21 May 2024 parts composed by Dan or DAN-DT (@Dan-T-3) in December 2020 under the title "Muddy Water" with amazing vocals by Dorothea Wessel (https://soundcloud.com/dorotheawessel) - to whom we thank sincerely, with parts by Alex M for a collaboration with Patrick under the title "Day by Day 10" composed in December 2021 and released on SC on 8 May 2022 (https://soundcloud.com/alexander-mihailov-96713983/day-by-day-10-volt5000-alex-m), and parts, effects, arrangements and transitions composed and mixed by DjArtw2001 recently. This new collaboration was posted on SC on 6 October 2024 (by Alex M).

The artwork cover for the track uses the original image created by DAN-DT in December 2020 and annotated in Mac OS Preview by Alex M on 5 October 2024 - in coordination and agreement with DjArtw2001 and DAN-DT.

We are continuing our collaborative relationship [Metalogue & Fluff] with 'Tephra', a brand new track featuring prominently on Metalogue's upcoming album 'Anomaly' (Combat Recordings). 

This time, we've pushed the boundaries quite a bit and experimented much more with concept and abstraction - something already hinted at, but never pursued to such an extent in our previous album 'Slate Horizons' (2018).

Relentless percussion and manic vocalisations contrast with ethereal voices and a mesmerising piano modulation based around the recurring melodic theme of the album.

Partly inspired by a freak volcanic winter event in 1816, 'Tephra' ties in with the overall album theme - a fascination with sci-fi and mysterious 'zones' - and plays with the juxtaposition of disaster and chaos vs. stillness, ruins, and the long forgotten.

As with all tracks on 'Anomaly', Metalogue recombined elements of 'Tephra' into the other album tracks, whilst mangled excerpts of 'Tephra' also resurface in Monster X’s cataclysmic 'Anomaly' remix.

'Anomaly' is available now for digital pre-order, and members of Metalogue’s mailing list will receive a free download code for the entire album a few days before official release in February 2020.
