Permafrost

strange fruit grows underwater too
look down and see just what we grew 
fertile harvest covered by the waves
resorts looking out on childrens graves
If you want to grow the tree
first cultivate your apathy
plant it in the ocean sand
water with far white propaganda 
teach your children fear and hate
a fertile soil to create
steep it all in racial pride 
never mention genocide
surround yourself with natural moats
close the docks to migrants' boats
fleeing wars in far off places
sink beneath and leave no traces
never show the victims faces
no love lost for other races 
different colours different shades
some abandoned, others saved
Europa the white mans fort
Never find a friendly port
thousands dead in Lampedusa
sink like stones that saw medusa
ulysses adrift searching for home
turns out all roads don't lead to Rome
to reach a hand 
the beach the sand
to make it to the promised land
you get so close you can almost see 
but it's out of the frying pan and into the sea
sunken treasures
dead mans chest
another mother laid to rest
where we send the refugees
cut adrift and left at sea 
silent victims cry no more 
tiny bodies washed ashore
sinking vessels  hardened souls
you hate black skin but your heart's a black hole
the waves were crashing port and starboard but the winds of hate were blowing out from the harbour
