A year and a half after @Black-Merlin (George Thompson) opened the Common Thread series with the much praised New World Fantasy / Ice House release George sent over some adventurous bits for a follow up and we were immediately sold. George is a true artist in his own right. All of the Black Merlin tracks evoke different sentiments. This time around the feeling it bring up is very conflicted. Both tracks have those dark aesthetics with elements of paranoia and both also share some apocalyptic elements. 
It is for this reason that this is the perfect follow up for CT01. 

Instead of just releasing music on vinyl we (with the blessings of Zoroaster) are looking to evoke spirits, cross boundaries and maintain quality. Major cliche's, but with an artist like Black Merlin on your books, Cliche's sometimes become truth.

Twilight stroll. Rooted and shaped in its time, a time of breaking barriers and reversing language, Transe Ar Gwez's first album resonates like therapy. A trance to bury all those monsters that are slow to die.

An ode to decay, the album takes root in a dark page of time. In the shadows, mycelium grows, crackles, captures, and colors souls. From a vulnerable cocoon, the ten tracks invite us to extricate ourselves from our doubts and twist the burning pains of the moment. The groves begin to dance, the forest rumbles.

Composed in his bedroom studio, half in seclusion, Trans ar Gwez has created a luminous album full of paradoxes and emotions. This succession of tracks smells like summer rain, the kind that falls on hot pavement, digested by a cloud filled with contradictory emotions.

Through rich styles ranging from 90s trance to traditional music, trip hop and drum & bass, Transe ar Gwez invokes memories of the past to craft an electronically ingenious pop, smooth and tortured with distorted voices. Deep voices, anchored in the ground, allow the music to take flight. This album accurately and subtly sums up the world we walk through, the monsters we must hunt down, those whose carcasses will create the sediment on which we will dance.

Balade crépusculaire. Ancré et modelé dans son temps, celui de l’éclatement des digues et de l’inversion du langage, le premier album de Transe Ar Gwez résonne en forme de thérapie. Une transe pour enterrer tous ces monstres qui tardent à crever.

Ode à l'effritement, l’album prend racine en sombre page du temps. À l'ombre, le mycélium pousse, crépite, capte et colore les âmes. D'un cocon vulnérable, les dix morceaux invitent à s'extirper de ses doutes, et tordre les maux brûlants du moment. Les bosquets se mettent à danser, la forêt gronde.

Composé dans son studio de chambre, à moitié reclus, Trans ar Gwez signe ici un album lumineux plein de paradoxes et d’émotions. Cette succession de tracks sent la pluie d’été, celle qui vient s’abattre sur le pavé chaud, digérée par un nuage rempli d’émotions contradictoires.

À travers des styles riches, allant de la transe des années 90 à la musique trad en passant par le trip hop et de la drum & bass, Transe ar Gwez invoque des souvenirs du passé pour façonner une pop électroniquement ingénieuse, suave et torturée de voix déformées. Des voix graves, ancrées dans le sol qui permettent à la musique de prendre de l’altitude. Cet album résume de façon très juste et subtile le monde que nous arpentons, les monstres que nous devons débusquer, ceux dont la carcasse créera le sédiment sur lequel nous danserons.

Flying in from London, Natural Selection showcase their label on Operator for the first time, featuring a solo set from local legend Charlton and a B2B set between label head Kodah and long-standing resident EKATA. Expect a diverse selection of techno, electro, IDM, acid and experimental electronics, moving between driving syncopated rhythms, broken beats, atmospheric textures and harder industrial-leaning sounds. Charlton brings the raw, hypnotic and stripped-back approach that has made him a close collaborator of the label through both his FOLD London appearances, and multiple Natural Selection releases. Kodah and EKATA will set the scene with a discerning blend of Electro, Techno and Acid with contemporary underground sounds. The show reflects the typical Natural Selection approach; forward-thinking electronic music with a focus on stylistic diversity, energy and experimentation, rather than a single genre or tempo.

I’m really excited and proud to welcome a French electro icon to "A4H"  : The Hacker, with his powerful track « Power Generator ».  @the-hacker

The Hacker is a central figure in electronic music, known for his innovative fusion of Techno and EBM and as one of the founding architects of Electroclash in the early 2000s. Emerging from Grenoble in the mid-1990s, Michel Amato developed a sharp, futuristic sound that has influenced multiple generations of producers and DJs.

He gained international recognition through his collaboration with Miss Kittin, with seminal tracks such as 1982 and Frank Sinatra becoming defining statements of their era. 

In recent years, as club culture entered a new phase, The Hacker’s raw, physical and uncompromising sound has taken on renewed relevance
