One would only have to indulge in Priori's impressive back catalogue to attest to his consistent quality but evolution of style and creative flow. Seeing Francis play multiple times on his recent tour to Australia really cemented all of this for me.- one of the best in the biz!

Part 2 - The Haunted Ship 

Embroiled in the violent solar winds of Sector 548 was not where they were meant to be, and there was no sign of any reconnaissance vessels nearby. Something had gone terribly wrong. How long had they been lost out here? 

A deeper inspection of the logs found a semi-organic anomaly had found its way into the ships data packets and started to merge with the technological network, corrupting and co-opting the central system into something new and strangely sentient. 

But THEY were the only one awake and too fearful to revive the others, as whatever this was had found its way into the hyper sleep caskets, mixing in with the crews DNA spectrum. The ship itself felt haunted, a thrum of mechanical bass rumbled in the distance while digital noises and human whispers whined through the dank metal corridors vying for attention. 

Searching for habitable planetoids through the basic controls yielded few options, but what other choice was there, the environmental systems were clearly degrading from the amalgamation. It was time to make a decision…

Land or be slowly ripped apart by the gravitational forces…

 Welcome to the Transmissions mix series, featuring sets recorded at our parties at FOLD. 

For our opening mix, we’re delighted to share a recent Steam Room session with the Bangkok-based selector and producer Sunju Hargun. 

For two hours, he delivered a masterclass of immersive, deep and psychedelic techno. And true to style, the set is a seamless flow of intricate rhythms and subtly shifting textures, shadowy grooves and pulsating basslines.  

This mix was mastered in the Area52 Studio.

'' A collection of tracks inspired by my experiences in Cyprus. Hazy afternoons in the shade of a carob tree with tzitzikes chirping all around. Long nights with the thrum of the sound system echoing through the trees. Underground gatherings across the island hearing the psychedelic music, and the crowd drawn by it. With this EP, I explore the soundscapes and experiences that inspired me. Ultimately striving to create music that will make sense in a Lotus Parable gathering – indeed these tracks have been tested on forest dancefloors before making it to release. An attempt to capture the earthy atmosphere and ceaseless ritualistic groove.''

Deep Breakfast 335 ~ Lord Of The Isles

Here is the recording from my warm up for the incredible @ignez__ last month at Loco Klub, Bristol.

Radical honesty - I had some monitoring issues on the night that may be felt in the recording and made me hesitant to share. However, I’m actively working on letting go and being less of a perfectionist. It feels important in a world of rampant AI use.

If you’ve heard me play out, this one may surprise you as it’s rare I stick to one ‘tone’ throughout. But this is music I love: dubby, textural, polyrhythmic swampy sound design, and I wanted to vibe-build for our headliner. It is also the most strictly ‘techno’ I’ve played in a while!

Anomalous DJ is the alias of Antony Price & Sam Kingfisher aka SK, co-founders of Anomalous, a creative studio, event space and sound system.

Whilst having primarily focused much of their careers on audio visual production and nightlife documentation, Antony has consistently maintained DJ residencies and guest slots in London since the mid 90’s. His archivist approach to both music and club culture photography providing him an artistic form of narrative self-expression.  

As Anomalous they create bespoke and dynamic gatherings that encourage meaningful interaction and connection through dance, well-being and active listening. Cultivating a model of exchange and support, they use collaboration as a form of resistance to systemic norms, with the Anomalous Sound System challenging conventional spaces of communal gathering to follow in the ethos of free party culture.
